Amazon Supply Chain Manager I, Carrier Compliance, Amazon Inbound Transportation in Nashville, Tennessee

Amazon’s Inbound Transportation team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Supply Chain Manager to assist in the management of daily freight movements flowing into our North American fulfillment centers and our associated fulfillment network. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team in a huge growth area for Amazon.

An ideal candidate has a background in transportation and excellent program and team management skills. This job will require exceptional communication skills while having the ability to work independently in a high pressure environment.

Key job responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to facilitate collaboration and drive results.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of comprehensive strategies and processes to address complex challenges, including:

  • Conducting research and analysis to identify issues and root causes.

  • Providing input on the design and enhancement of systems, tools, and controls.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and execute mitigation plans.

  • Monitoring the effectiveness of implemented solutions and driving continuous improvement.

  • Contribute to the re-engineering of business processes and the identification and elimination of inefficiencies to drive operational excellence.

  • Effectively communicate and escalate issues or concerns to the appropriate owners, ensuring seamless information flow and streamlined decision-making.

  • Leverage data and analytical skills to perform ad hoc reporting, analysis, and problem-solving as needed.

  • Provide subject matter expertise and input to influence the development and enhancement of technology solutions and systems.

A day in the life

Being a Supply Chain Manager for Amazon involves lots of problem solving. You’ll work with a number of teams to navigate carrier challenges as, and when, situations impact our network. You’ll spend time resolving immediate need issues and looking at the bigger picture to drive Amazon towards achieving new objectives. This role is both proactive and reactive, and you’ll have the opportunity to build something new and create projects for a new transportation network that sets the bar within industry. Work Hard. About the team

Amazon couldn’t deliver at pace without the Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team. As part of ATS, you’ll be welcomed into a diverse team that plays a central role in our success.

The team's main objective is to build working relationships with Carriers, on behalf of our Suppliers and Amazon's operational teams to develop the most proficient transportation providers in the world.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of program or project management experience

  • 1+ years of supply chain experience

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Lean principles and DMAIC methodology

  • Experience in MS Access and SQL

  • Experience in requirement gathering and ability to write clear and detailed requirement document

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
