Amazon is seeking a high performing Finance Analyst to partner with the World-Wide Operations Sustainability team supporting our carbon emissions reduction and other sustainability related goals.
As a Finance Analyst of WW Operations Sustainability (WWOS), you will be partnering across various business units (ATS, AMZL, CF, Packaging, Inbound Logistics, etc.) and geographies (US, EU, JP, ROW) within operations as well as with the central Worldwide Amazon Sustainability team. You will identify opportunities, manage projects, provide guidance and deep dive to ensure proper reporting is in place for the new and evolving carbon reporting requirements. As a key member of the WWOS team, you will directly influence business decisions including investments, pricing models, and long term strategy. This is an exciting role for a Finance Analyst who enjoys influencing both strategy and tactical execution and has a passion for innovation.
Key job responsibilities
• Building scalable mechanisms to improve sustainability planning and reporting
• Using the finance skill set to innovate and simplify
• Leading financial analysis and due diligence for sustainability projects
• Engaging with partner teams to deep dive and improve the carbon emissions forecast
• Creating, improving, and maintaining financial metrics, reports and scorecards
• Communicating financial and business results including variance analyses to senior business leaders
About the team
WW Operations Carbon Planning and Analysis is the central team in WW Ops Sustainability Finance set up to replicate finance processes and leverage financial data for carbon planning and reporting globally. CP&A is responsible for articulating and influencing carbon plan and setting and reporting WW Ops carbon targets in pursuit of net-zero-carbon commitment by 2040 (The Climate Pledge).
Basic Qualifications
Tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
Experience in applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses
Experience of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making
Experience of creating process improvements with automation and analysis
Participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results
Experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel
Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving
Preferred Qualifications
Experience of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
