    Summary

The Retail Operations Analyst (ROA) will support the development of analysis and reporting that will be critical to driving the business and improving decision-making for a key Consumer Package Goods (CPG) client and/or Retailer. Analysis includes, but is not limited to inventory, sales, supply chain, product availability, and market analysis. Additionally, the ROA will create data driven reporting by synthesizing various data sources, evaluating performance, generating data models to determine future forecasting, targeted merchandising services, and sales opportunities. The ROA will also prepare detailed recommendations, as well as business summaries for use by the CPG client, as well as Driveline Operations and Client Services teams.

Essential Duties

  • Collect, analyze, and evaluate sales data and on-hand availability data to provide reliable standard weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting that is communicated on time and accurately

  • Develop and maintain key metrics reports and scorecards for all assigned categories

  • Provide detailed and thorough analysis of information, both in summary and detailed levels

  • Ability to understand POS analysis, manage, and store various data sources and types, with the ability to interpret large volumes of data and provide high level summaries, as well as detailed SKU and store level recommendations

  • Build and optimize dashboards and other visualizations that drive business success

  • Analyze sales performance data and assist in development of growth driving strategies

  • Develop new reports and reporting techniques to help discover more valuable insights

  • Support the development of store reviews including KPIs, top categories, and SKU level detail assessments

  • Work with internal cross functional teams, as well as retailer and CPG, to identify out of stock situations and lost sales

  • Provide recommendations for improvement through routine communication between Driveline Operations & Client Services teams and CPG client

  • Support analysis of CPG promotions and events

  • Provide customized reporting and recommendations in support of ongoing business decisions or initiatives

  • Other tasks and duties that may arise to meet Driveline’s business needs

  • Display a high degree of professionalism and exhibit excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information to a broad audience

  • Ability to manage and manipulate large-scale data sets, as well as correlate analytic results

  • Ability to understand forecasting models and replenishment analysis

  • Firm understanding of retail merchandising practices

  • Demonstrate aptitude for prioritization, multitasking, and effective and efficient execution of projects

  • Strong self-starter in implementing visualizations, dashboards, and reports using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

    Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Management, or related field preferred or equivalent supervisory/management experience

  • 3+ years of work experience in Retail Data Analysis including sales, inventory, shrink, and similar
