Vanderbilt University Project Manager in Nashville, Tennessee

Vanderbilt University is seeking a Project Manager for an esteemed role within an international research consortium that includes Yale University, the University of Lausanne, and the Italian Institute of Technology in Genoa. This position demands a resourceful individual to oversee project activities across these notable academic institutions. The role not only involves synthesizing data from varied research sites and managing comprehensive project schedules but also offers a unique opportunity for extensive networking across these institutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • International Coordination: Coordinate collaboration efforts across consortium members, ensuring seamless project execution and alignment. In this and all other roles, work closely with the consortium PI to align goals and expectations.

  • Data Synthesis and Schedule Management: Integrate data from diverse sources to inform project direction and manage detailed project timelines with clear milestones.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the key intermediary among consortium researchers and industry partners, facilitating essential dialogues and collaborations.

  • Biweekly Updates: Compile and present concise project progress reports in slide format every two weeks.

  • Equipment and Compliance Management: Monitor experimental equipment at all sites for operational integrity and compliance with IRB standards.

  • Data Management Leadership: Spearhead the consortium's data management practices, emphasizing efficient and secure data handling.

  • Research Oversight: Work closely with the project teams to ensure timely progress on scientific goals and deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or PhD in Neuroscience or Psychology, or advanced degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or related field.

  • 2-3 years of project management experience, preferably in a research-based context.

  • Advanced skills in project management software and communication tools.

  • Preferred experience with computer operating systems, motion tracking technologies, server management, and data management. However, these are not required qualifications.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in diverse teams and across cultural boundaries.
