Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARY

Our research team is focused on improving the health of families by implementing behavioral health

interventions in community settings. Our team is conducting a multi-site 5-year clinical trial to determine optimal intervention strategy that can achieve effective weight loss for children with obesity. The intervention is specifically focused on delivering evidence-based nutritional content via in-person counseling in clinical settings. There is also an online on-demand intervention that has been developed to support the intervention delivery. The patient population will likely have high social needs and many of the participants will reside in rural areas.

We are looking for a program manager with content expertise in nutrition or dietetics (RD, NP, or PhD

preferred). This program manager will lead curriculum development. This position will also train primary care providers, nutritionists, and community resource specialists across middle Tennessee and northern Louisiana to deliver the intervention with high fidelity. The program manager will also be available to problem solve with and provide support to interventionists throughout the trial. Experience in health coaching or clinical dietetics is preferred. This position is entirely research based with no clinical responsibilities. Experience in research is preferred, as the program manager will also be responsible for adhering to study protocols, monitoring fidelity of the intervention, and working as part of the study team to successfully implement all phases of the study. Our research group flourishes because of a supportive team environment, so working as a part of a team is an essential component of this job. Because we work to meet families and community leaders where they are, trainings and intervention sessions may take place on nights or weekends either virtually or in the local community context, which will require scheduling flexibility for the program manager. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Help to develop and update health coaching curriculum to best meet our research population

  • Train primary care providers, nutritionists, and community resource specialists across middle Tennessee and northern Louisiana to deliver study protocol for families around diet, physical activity, sleep, media use, and parenting

  • Problem-solve with and provide support to interventionists throughout the trial to ensure adherence to study protocol and high fidelity of the curriculum.

  • Assist with coordinating participant visits with interventionists.

  • Coordinate with Clinical Trials Manager and Research Coordinator 3 to support achieving grant milestones, with particular attention to timelines, cost, and quality.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
