Vanderbilt University Professional Fellowship (2yr program) in Nashville, Tennessee

Vanderbilt University is seeking highly motivated and talented Vanderbilt University graduates for a 2-year Professional Fellowship. This fellowship offers recent graduates, either graduating seniors or those who have graduated within the last three years, the opportunity to gain valuable professional experience in a dynamic university environment across multiple disciplines. The fellowship is designed to foster professional growth, enhance skills, and contribute to meaningful projects while gaining a unique and well-rounded experience in Higher Education administration.

About the Fellowship:

2-year commitment

  • Rotating work on university initiatives

  • Assignments average 1-3 months

  • Experience with several different leaders across Vanderbilt

  • Monthly check-ins with department managers and the Professional Development Coordinator

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various university departments to support and implement initiatives related to student engagement, academic programs, and community outreach.

  • Assist in the development and execution of events, workshops, and programs that enhance the overall student experience.

  • Conduct research and analysis on relevant topics to contribute to the improvement of university programs and services.

  • Engage with students, faculty, and staff to gather feedback and insights to inform decision-making processes.

  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of partnerships between the university and external organizations.

  • Support the planning and execution of university-wide projects and initiatives.

Supervisory Relationships:

This position does not have supervisory responsibility. This position reports administratively to the Professional Development Coordinator and functionally to the assigned department manager.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree for graduating seniors or recent graduates (undergraduate and graduate) within the last three years (2021 – 2024) Minimum GPA of 3.0

  • Passion for learning

  • Ability to manage strict project completion and reporting deadlines required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Using computers and related software

  • Highly motivated and independent, yet team-oriented

  • Respect for economic and cultural diversity

  • Adaptable mindset and flexible attitude

  • Local to Nashville, TN or surrounding areas

  • Commitment to 2-year program

Benefits & Perks:

  • You will operate as a full-time Vanderbilt Employee that includes an annualized salary of $70,000.

Note: Room and board are not provided for fellows. Accepted candidates are responsible for securing and funding their own housing, off-campus.
