Position Goal:

Responsible to oversee effective daily operation of the MRI office of Hughston Clinic Orthopaedics (HCO) and any related satellite clinic operations.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Answer to Chief Operating Officer in all matters of Clinic operations.
  • Operate MRI equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients body for diagnostic purposes.
  • Assist patients in getting into the positions required to get the scans needed with the occasional need to lift patient. Perform MRI following the established procedures for patients care and safety.
  • Organize and prepare images/patient history/paperwork for radiologist interpretation by use of fax and teleradiology via internet.
  • Put patients at ease, keep safety a priority. Keep patients mentally and physically comfortable.
  • Inject patients with contrast material.
  • Understand each physicians protocol.
  • Assure that images meet the established quality standards.
  • Assist with entering MRI reports into patients charts.
  • Address any maintenance issues and complete requisitions forms if necessary. Reports any malfunction to supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Serve as customer service liaison for patient complaints.
  • Responsible for understanding and carrying out radiology requisitions and views.
  • Understand risk protocols.
  • Oversee/order supply inventory, ensure that mail is opened and processed, office is opened and closed according to Hughston Clinic Orthopaedics procedures.
  • Assist with the opening of all new satellite clinics.
  • Assist Team Leads within clinic location as necessary.
  • Ensure proper training is done with new hires for Front Office and MRI Technologists.
  • Oversee daily office operations; ensure process efficiency. Monitor work status and progress for all satellite offices. Responsible for Front Office, Pre-cert and MRI daily operations efficiency.
  • Calculate and submit daily deposit for MRI.
  • Enter and approve PTO time.
  • Responsible for tracking productivity of employees.
  • Handle patient discrepancies as well as doctor complaints, and respond to all complaints, verbal and written.
  • Provide resolution to any office issues.
  • Prepare reports and manage assigned projects.

  • Assist in interviewing and selection procedures. Handle various personnel matters including forms and procedures as required.
  • Conduct annual evaluations and assessments on Front Office and MRI Technologists.
  • Implement and assist with any new or changed guidelines for the clinic operation.
  • Meet with administration to review operational issues and discuss strategic plans. Maintain strictest confidentiality.
  • Utilize effective communication skills (written and verbal) interacting with co-workers, other clinic employees, supervisors, and outside vendors.
  • Promote HCOs role in the community by greeting and interacting with all patients, families, visitors, vendors, and guests in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Provides support or relief for other staff as needed.
  • Demonstrates confidentiality in all aspects to include both patient and non-patient issues.
  • Reflect HCO values and is sensitive to HCOs ethical and compliance principals in his/her daily activities.
  • Promote resolution of concerns and conflict by routing through correct mechanism or resolving the situation.
  • Able to prioritize daily functions/tasks
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Display a willingness to put forth effort in problem solving
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience:

Required:

  • Two years MRI experience

Preferred:

  • Previous healthcare management related experience

Education:

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of course work in radiologic technology and/or MR Certification approved by the ARRT
  • Registered MR
  • BLS certification

Special Qualifications:

Required:

  • Knowledge of office management techniques, practices, computer systems and applications Physician workflows
  • Vast knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy.
  • Must be able to make effective and independent operational decisions.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • Travel may be required.
