Lifeguard, Flex (Job Number: 1900054)


The Vanderbilt Athletics Department is seeking certified Lifeguards to work on an as needed basis in the Student Recreation Center Aquatics facility.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the safety of pool patrons by scanning the pool water and deck

  • Picking up equipment

  • Sweeping and spraying off pool deck

  • Straightening up tables and chairs

  • Wiping down stainless steel

  • Any other duties as assigned

  • Hours are variable and will include evenings, weekends and holidays.

Requirements of an Ideal Candidate

  • This position requires High school diploma or GED and 1 year of experience or the equivalent.

  • Great customer service

  • Must be able to provide proof of the following certifications:

  1. Lifeguard Training First Aid

  2. CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
