Job Summary:

This role on the pharmacy informatics team will provide critical support for patient-facing pharmacy applications. This includes applications used for retail medication management across all VUMC locations. With approximately 60,000 registered patient users, this lead role will require expertise in business and product knowledge, as well as workflows and market analysis/strategies for new feature capabilities and roadmaps. With tight integration with eStar, this role is essential to support any upgrades or changes that may affect integrated systems. The lead role provides comprehensive IT business analysis needs and will lead a framework to transition and manage various pharmacy applications under HealthIT.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Designs, builds, installs, configures, and/or develops software to support clinical, administrative, financial and operational workflows.

• Analyzes clinical, administrative, financial or operational workflows supported by the assigned products and their relationship to the technical environment in which they operate.

• May perform analysis and design of supporting technical infrastructures.

• Supports clinical, administrative, financial, revenue, or operational implementations for assigned products which may also include testing and QA, reporting, product life cycle, communication/collaboration with customers and vendors, and training users.

• Assists with onboarding and training as needed.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES

Expected, as a result of the position, to have the ultimate knowledge, control, influence, and/or jurisdiction in the skill. Takes a lead role in developing best practices for the organization.

• Product Knowledge (Expert): Is a recognized expert and authority regarding the product. Is an authoritative internal resource for support or direction for projects related to the product. Has extensive experience in developing/supporting I/T applications specific to the product. Knowledge approaches that of line professionals who work with the product.

• Testing (Expert): Recognized expert and authority on test planning, processes and tools for the assigned applications.

• Configuration Management and Planning (Expert): Recognized expert and authority on configuration management and planning. Occupies the position which is the last internal resource for support or direction. Interfaces with senior leadership on major configuration and planning issues. Capable of discerning the impact of subtle changes in business and technology, and their impact on configuration. Takes a lead role in developing strategy and preparing strategic plans for the organization. May lead task forces. Mentors others.

• Technical Analysis (Expert): Recognized expert and authority for technical resolution of the most challenging and complex situations. Analyzes and develops solutions to complex clinical, administrative, financial, operational, and technical issues. Occupies the position which is the last internal resource for support or direction. Interfaces with senior leadership on major technical issues. Takes a lead role in developing strategy and best practices for the organization. Mentors others.
