Job Summary:

Vanderbilt Health is conducting a national search for a Lead Marketing Development Manager with our Healthcare Professional Solutions (HPS) group.

The Lead Marketing Development Manager (“Marketing Lead”) will be responsible for working with Vanderbilt Health’s commercial companies that have regional and national growth goals. The Health Professional Solutions (HPS) division serves customers locally and across the country. The Marketing Lead will work closely with each business’s leaders and sales leads to grow the businesses and acquire new customers.

The Marketing Lead will coordinate with HPS leaders and the Vice President of Business Engagement Strategies on the development and implementation of strategies, plans, and initiatives that support the growth of Vanderbilt’s entities through various tactics, including cost-effective means to raise awareness in the marketplace. The position provides critical support for the success of VUMC’s strategic growth goals. Primarily, in a business-to-business (B2B) marketing role, the Marketing Lead may support minimal direct-to-customer or direct-to-patient or provider initiatives as well.

The Marketing Lead’s primary focus will be to serve as both an integrated marketing strategist and essential project manager to ensure the strategies are successfully implemented on time, on budget, and with critical judgment that ensures alignment with the overall vision for the business’s strategic growth. The Marketing Lead will both lead and contribute to project-level strategy development and execution that may include event marketing, digital/online elements, websites, advertising, and other tactics/platforms and forms of external communication. Strong content creation and ability to articulate differentiated value proposition is critical, as well as positioning and creativity.

Health Professional Solutions (HPS) is a fully owned subsidiary of VUMC specializing in identifying, building, and scaling business opportunities based on the many exciting capabilities and innovations inherent in the VUMC system. HPS is currently seeking a Lead Market Development Manager to join our team in Nashville, Tennessee. The position will require a combination of travel, remote work, and in-office presence.

Job Responsibilities

  • Act as strategic partner to B2B entities, providing valuable integrated marketing strategies and budgets, and project execution across multiple channels for maximum impact on various target audiences, including those currently engaged with VUMC B2B verticals, as well as growth targets

  • Assess and analyze market data to formulate strategic recommendations and develop marketing plans for individual markets and specific audiences in collaboration with internal business partners, including tailored thought leadership campaigns

  • Design, execute and manage strategic lead generation and nurture campaigns, and track campaign effectiveness and impact (ROI), Cost per Lead, and evaluate results

  • Develop design and content for sales pitches and presentations, sales collateral, customer testimonials and case studies, marketing flyers, company monthly newsletters, content for email campaigns, and more

  • Manage web presence and social media channels, including LinkedIn Postings, paid social campaigns, online search visibility, and brand awareness

  • Leverage CRM tools (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics) and digital marketing tools, such as Marketo, My Emma, Barista, and others to efficiently and measurably support growth initiatives

  • Responsible for event strategy, marketing, and support for appropriate events and conference, tradeshows, or events where companies desire a strategic presence with attendees/speakers

  • Execute surveys and other market validation techniques for business leaders and potential new commercialization opportunities.

  • Manage brand standards and approval processes with enterprise brand team

  • Collaborate and build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and business partners/vendors, upholding the reputation of Health Professional Solutions and VUMC Marketing & Engagement Department by delivering superior client service and demonstrating value to key audiences

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, or related field

  • 6-8 years related progressive work experience demonstrating skills and duties outlined above.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.

  • Experience working in a distributed team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree

  • Healthcare industry experience highly preferred. B2B experience required.

  • Commercial start-up and growth-stage company experience highly desired.

  • Direct experience supporting business development/sales goals highly preferred. Agency experience preferred.

  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to express complex concepts clearly and concisely

  • Experience developing strategy and executing effective projects across new marketing concepts and approaches, including, content strategy, digital marketing, PR/media relations and audience engagement

  • Essential to this role will be knowledge of both interactive and print platforms, designing and managing project timelines, seeking approvals on innovative campaign concepts, and overseeing the production of associated deliverables in an efficient and effective manner.

  • Ability to take business insights and goals and confidently create robust integrated marketing communications strategies and plans

  • Strong analytic and critical thinking skills, including the ability to understand and interpret relevant data and complex topics, distilling it to key insights and communicating that effectively to business leaders

  • Ability to manage vendors and budgets effectively and efficiently

  • Ability to and comfort with presenting information to internal stakeholders of all levels, as well as provide consultation

  • Creative thinker with proven ability to bring innovation to projects and processes

  • Self-motivated, attention to detail and strong organizational skills
