The Director of Facilities Risk and Compliance is accountable for leading and mitigating facility operating risk, compliance, and quality programs. Provides strategic and technical direction for facilities operations across Johnson & Johnson’s global portfolio of sites and leads the COE for standardized practices as it relates to Risk, Quality and Compliance.

This role is responsible for driving and leading all aspects of the Risk and Compliance processes and outcomes across all regions (in close collaboration with regional LT’s and regional R&Q individuals) in the Facilities Management organization. Role responsibilities include the enablement of programs to measure, mitigate, remediate, trend and report: operational risk, business risk, and regulatory compliance (including GMP quality program compliance), ensuring the successful implementation and management of the overall Risk and Quality program. They will also deliver benchmark strategy and visibility through robust risk identification, mitigation, and reporting for a global organization.

The candidate for this role will have demonstrated success designing and implementing corporate risk programs/systems as well as background in operational quality and regulation compliance deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Devise and develop risk identification and mitigation strategies.

  • Deploy risk mitigation and management systems/strategies / controls.

  • Promote cross-regional and regional quality standards and auditing.

  • Oversee FM risk, compliance, and quality related data collection and reporting.

  • Promote risk recovery strategies to accelerate turn-around.

  • Coordinate within E&PS and with other J&J functions including EHS&S, JJT, Supply Chain Risk Management, Corporate Risk, and Quality in the assessment and mitigation of FM-related risk and compliance issues.

  • Own business continuity for FM and align with other areas of the business.

  • Collaborate with cross-region colleagues.

  • Oversee customization of strategies based on unique regional needs, regulations, and protocols.

  • Oversee auditing of outsourced contracts for risk, quality, and compliance related issues.

  • Champion risk management approaches and align with regions to support adoption.

  • Promote risk management awareness for the FM organization.

Qualifications

Education:

  • University/Bachelor's or equivalent degree required; Advanced degree preferred. Concentration in Business, Risk Management, Engineering, Facilities Management or related subject area highly preferred.

Experience

Required:

  • Minimum of ten to twelve (10-12) years of related experience.

  • Experience in Facility Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or Risk and Quality Management experience.

  • Knowledge of compliance requirements and regulations applicable to J&J’s lines of business and operations.

  • Experience working in a healthcare, regulated environment.

  • Strong intuition for business and relationship building skills.

  • The ability to effectively partner and deliver results in a multifunctional environment.

  • The ability to adapt emerging standard processes and industry innovations to facilities management.

  • Strong project management skills, coordination, and action tracking skills.

  • Deep knowledge of risk management concepts such as risk identification, operational risk measurement techniques.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to provide clear and comprehensive responses.

Preferred:

  • Experience leading and mentoring direct reports.

  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification.

  • Global experience.

  • Experience leading and managing complex work streams and multiple staff members, specifically across geographically dispersed teams.

Other:

  • This position will require up to 25% domestic and international travel.

  • Proficiency (both oral and written) in the English language is required.

  • The anticipated base pay range for this position is $146,000 to $251,850.

  • In the California Bay Area - The anticipated base pay range for this position is $167,000 to $289,800.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

  • Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year

  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year

  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
