Job Summary and Qualifications

The position has global responsibility of developing, building and implementing strategic plans that assure facility-based Supply Chain Operations support all facilities and departments within HCA including but not limited to all operations in the United States. This position is responsible for collaborating on and for implementation of supply chain strategies for Surgical & Specialty Services at HCA facilities. These duties include designing, developing, directing, implementing, training, and measuring all current and future facility-based supply chain systems, tools, and technologies to deliver best-in-class supply support Consistency in Practice guidelines. This role will lead the collaboration of Supply chain, CSG, OSG, Care teams and all other HCA departments to assure supply chain programs support the company objectives. This includes the development of business cases, project plans, and operational tools plus the implementation tracking and reporting to senior leadership of plan progress and financial results for a wide-range of supply chain projects within HCA. This position is additionally responsible for strategic development of and maintenance of the current facility-based Supply Chain Operations and Surgical & Specialty Services Supply Chain operating “model” (Policies & Procedures) as well as working with facility personnel to develop and test new best practices for additions or modifications to the “model.” In addition, this position will be responsible for ongoing development and reengineering of future-state supply chain strategies for all facets of the supply chain management within the hospital environment. This position is also responsible for the strategic development and execution of formal communications, education, and training for all supply chain operations

What you will do in this role includes:

  • Strategic participation with operations management staff in formulating and administering Supply Chain Operations and Surgical & Specialty Services Supply Chain policies and development of long-range goals and annual operational plans and objectives. This includes interaction with Division and Corporate leaders to develop and execute on supply chain initiatives.

  • Establish realistic operational goals and feasible supporting tactics in company business plans. Develops reportable key performance indicators for Supply Chain Operations and the Surgical & Specialty Services Supply Chain.

  • Manage the global Surgical & Specialty Services Supply Chain operational performance metrics to ensure goals are established and monitored throughout the company. This includes integration with Care team goals and objectives.

  • Successfully migrate facilities to the standardized Surgical & Specialty Services Supply Chain operating platform including systems, technologies, policies, and procedures for supply chain support to Surgical Services, Catheterization Lab, Interventional Radiology, Electrophysiology, and Endoscopy.

  • Identify and drive execution of continuous improvement opportunities within facility-based Supply Chain Operations and Surgical & Specialty Services Supply Chain.

  • Develop and implement technology solutions with Corporate IT&S for the facility-based Supply Chain Operations and Surgical & Specialty Services Supply Chain

  • Drive and maintain division executive management emphasis on the migration to and adherence to the performance “model” for facility-based Supply Chain Operations and Surgical & Specialty Services Supply Chain.

  • Aggressively lead the company-wide consistent execution of the Surgical & Specialty Services Supply Chain “model” including identification/implementation of best practices, implementation and development of standardized policy and procedures, and implementation of supply cost reduction strategies/opportunities

  • Facilitate cross-functional communications and education/training to improve supply chain efficiency, performance, and effectiveness across the organization.

  • Responsible for leading efforts on due diligence and integration of acquisitions into HCA Supply Chain by working with Supply Chain Corporate, Division Supply Chain, and all HCA business units.

  • Responsible for representing Supply Chain as liaison to the HCA Enterprise Emergency Operations Center in support of disaster preparedness and response for local and global events impacting HCA facilities including but not limited to governmental action, mass casualties, natural disasters, and pandemics.

  • Participates in company-level budgeting and forecasting activities

  • Provides daily direction to direct reports of Director and Manager level professionals, works closely with other departments including: Clinical Operations, Education and Communications, Human Resources, Pharmacy Operations, Supply Chain Financial Operations, Supply Chain Data Analytics, Supply Expense Management, Strategic Sourcing, Support Services (Environmental Services, Food and Nutrition Services), and Warehousing and Logistics Operations.

  • Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct, Mission, and Value Statement

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • MBA or Master’s degree, preferred

  • 10 years extensive experience with integrated supply chain operations required
