Job Summary and Qualifications
JOB SUMMARY
The Application Analyst will help lead the identification of Third-Party Applications that HCA utilizes through the Application Portfolio management (APM) process. APM is a strategic approach that helps align applications with business objectives. This team member is responsible for utilizing various software asset management tools, network tools and other tools/products to identify the top applications used within HCA Healthcare. In addition, the role identifies, articulates, and drives change/completion of identified needs to be submitted to the APM process, tools, governance and Steering Committee for enhancements, change requests and optimization. This role requires strong communication skills and a high level of situational confidence. The role develops a trusted advisor relationship with key stakeholders including Information Protection and Security, IT leaders, and other department professionals.
Duties Include:
• Utilize HCA tools such as software asset management tools, cyber tools, network monitoring tools and various other tools within the HCA inventory to identify and evaluate third party application usage.
• Evaluate third party applications for usage within the HCA environment.
• Provide a recommendation on third party application tools for future usage or blocks.
• Coordinate with the Information Technology and Information Protection and Security colleagues to identify users of products. Where applicable, coordinate with colleagues to move users to approved HCA products.
• Coordinate with IT teams to block third party applications that are not approved within the HCA environment.
• Coordinate with APM team members to evaluate the current HCA third party application environment and cross reference against third party applications discovered.
• Coordinate and submit business application records and contributes to the strategic management of applications.
• Monitor application performance and usage, identifying areas for optimization and enhancement, when assigned.
• Ability to development communications to end users, security, IT and other HCA colleagues on changes to approved HCA third party application usage to include what will be blocked, when it will be blocked and what are the approved products.
• Monitor application performance and recommend enhancements or updates.
• Assist in the development of documentation, including user manuals and training materials.
• Stay current with industry trends and technologies to suggest improvements.
• Responsible for participating on the process workflow for the enterprise.
• Responsible for working with the process engineer and Service Management Organization (SMO) on all activities necessary such as process maps to support the APM process and its various stages of the lifecycle of an application, where applicable.
• Completes requirements and ensures technology supports process flow optimally.
• Consults with Departments and Divisions on specific needs to offer proposed solutions and implements appropriately.
• Supports User Review Groups, as assigned.
• Supports audit-related inquiries.
• Assist in the development and distribution of Executive Enterprise status reporting.
• Establishes and maintains strong relationships with ITG leadership, APM Team, Service Management Organization, Information Protection & Security, Enterprise Architecture, Project Management, Finance Operations, and vendors to reduce risk, catalog applications, and provide recommendations on disposition of third-party applications within HCA.
• Communicates with end users and other stakeholders through multiple channels.
• Assist in the development of training for user communities of TPA/APM.
• All other duties as assigned.

OTHER/SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Ability to learn, use, and run reports from Software Asset Management tools such as Flexara, ServiceNow and other products.
• Ability to learn, use and run reports from network and cyber tools to identify third party application usage such as Microsoft Defender, SCCM, etc.
• Strong knowledge of Service Now
• Knowledge of Application Portfolio Management
• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma concepts
• Knowledge of project management methodology and deliverables
• Knowledge of use case analysis and workflow design
• ITIL knowledge
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office product suite to include strong Excel skills
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree preferred
EXPERIENCE
Up to one year of experience preferred
