MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Schedule: Sunday through Thursday 2:30PM-11PM

The Maintenance Technician's role involves ensuring maximum equipment reliability by executing maintenance tasks to keep equipment in pristine condition and reduce downtime. Using advanced skills and expertise, they perform maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, make repairs, and pinpoint areas for improvement. They also contribute to Operational Excellence and Production Systems, adhere to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles, and take ownership of the Maintenance Excellence process within their plant.

What are we looking for?

Education and Professional Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Technical training; exposure to high-speed equipment

• Proficient in precision installation of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, piping, and electrical equipment according to OEM specifications.

Knowledge/Experience:

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in operating packing/production machinery, ideally within a food manufacturing environment.

• Effective verbal and written communication abilities, demonstrating tact and courtesy in interactions with colleagues and vendors.

• Ability to read and understand mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical schematics.

• Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, maintain, and repair complex mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical components and systems.

• Must be flexible to work weekends and other shifts as needed.

• Able to work well independently, self-motivated, and as a team member.

• Able to meet the physical requirements of the position requiring heavy lifting up to 100 lbs., carrying tools and supplies, kneeling, stooping, climbing, and standing on feet for long periods of time.

What will be your key responsibilities?:

• Understands and follows safety policies and procedures. Performs all tasks safely and does not take risks as it pertains to safety. Leads by example.

• Identifies safety risks and works to reduce risks in behavior, equipment and processes.

• Creates, documents and performs strong Preventive/Predictive maintenance tasks/procedures to eliminate equipment breakdown failures.

• Quickly and safely troubleshoots equipment issues and implements optimum corrective action. Communicates plan of action to prevent repeat issues and can assist in documenting new procedures.

• Communicates effectively with operations personnel to identify and resolve abnormal or degraded equipment conditions that could negatively impact safety, quality or productivity.

• Participates in proactive maintenance activities such as FMEA’s, RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action), Analytical Troubleshooting (ATS).

• Documents work done in sufficient detail in order to capture strong historical data for future analysis.

• Performs all duties with outstanding cleanliness standards. Upholds rigorous cleanliness practices in their designated areas.

• Recognizes and selects appropriate tools for each task. Identifies any damaged tools and avoids their use to ensure safety.

• Precision welding based on the required application.

• Skilled in shop tools: lathes, drills, milling machines, etc.

• Technically skilled to maintain, troubleshoot, repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, piping and electrical equipment. This includes a strong understanding of lubrication principles and ensuring the proper lubrication is applied to equipment.

• Technically skilled to Improve Reliability of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, piping and electrical equipment.

• Assists in identifying opportunities to improve equipment inspection, lubrication and hard to access areas for new equipment installs and for current equipment.

• Can understand overall equipment operation/function and applies to maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and reliability of equipment sub-components.

• Installs/troubleshoots/repairs AC and DC drives/motors.

• Fabricates and installs various electrical, piping, pneumatic and mechanical equipment.

• Adhere to Nom Nom work rules, GMPs, Safety processes, procedures and rules as well as; comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
