Covenant Health DRIVER/PATIENT SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE - per diem in Nashua, New Hampshire

The starting rate for this position is: $19.55

Summary

St. Joseph Hospital is a regional, full-service healthcare system serving the Greater Nashua area, western New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts. St. Joseph hospital’s mobile health clinic will provide care to patients in a non-emergency walk-in clinic setting where care will be rendered to those insured, underinsured, and uninsured. In addition to MD or NP appointment care; health screenings, health education, and counseling for many preventable illnesses to clients will be offered and more. The program will serve Greater Nashua’s high-risk neighborhoods in partnership with community, local organizations and schools as well as twelve surrounding communities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Driver/PSR will be responsible for driving the RV, general maintenance knowledge, patient education about hospital and services. Registering patients and collecting payment. Driver is to maintain safety and cleanliness inside and outside of the RV along with other staff. Position is not limited to driving; the driver works closely with the team to ensure MHC license compliance, hospital ethical and religious directives respected as well as a positive patient experience. Specific roles and responsibilities are as follow:

  • Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry.

  • Operates mobile health clinic on designated routes during the week and for special events on weekends.

  • Communicates with staff to confirm changes, additions, or deletions from route schedule.

  • Performs daily safety inspection of vehicle and equipment.

  • Completes vehicle condition report, which includes requests for maintenance and repair.

  • Performs daily cleaning of vehicle interior including: emptying the trash receptacles, sweeping/washing the floor, and dusting the seating surfaces with hospital approved cleaning products.

  • Performs refueling of vehicle as needed.

  • Performs outreach to neighborhood residents and businesses near the MHC’s parking sites.

  • Maintains adequate inventory of the mobile health clinic supplies and prepares the RV at the beginning and end of day and between each site visit.

  • Performs related duties as required.

  • Patient registration and Carelink training complete within 90 days of hire.

  • Ability to interact with diverse patient populations in diverse settings, in a positive, professional manner, contributing to organizational goals.

    Education and Experience

  • High school diploma and a valid NH state commercial driver’s license.

  • A minimum of six years driving experience preferred.

  • Current DOT physical required.

  • Must have an excellent driving record.

  • Attend CPI training.

  • BLS/CPR, AED certified preferred.

    An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.

    Working Conditions/Physical Demands

    Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this position that involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs. Some stress related to high level of responsibility for quality care.
