Description

We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Napa, California. This role involves a blend of in-office and remote work, requiring flexibility to adapt to different working environments. The Staff Accountant will primarily engage in accounting operations within the wine industry, focusing on customer credit applications, customer record maintenance, and customer inquiry resolution.

Responsibilities:

• Undertake weekly and monthly inventory reconciliation.

• Generate sales reports utilizing Wine Direct software.

• Manage the full cycle of accounts payable, including invoice processing, vendor communications, and approvals.

• Establish new vendors, ensuring collection of W9 forms.

• Conduct 1099 reporting and credit card reconciliations.

• Manage custom crush inventory reporting in Vintrace.

• Oversee deposits and accounts receivable reporting, as well as collections.

• Handle month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures.

• Utilize advanced Excel skills to streamline accounting processes.

• Leverage knowledge of Sage 100, Wine Direct, and Bill.Com to enhance accounting operations.

Requirements

• Must have proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) processing

• Experience with managing Accounts Receivable (AR) is required

• Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations is necessary

• The candidate should have hands-on experience with General Ledger management

• Proficiency in preparing Journal Entries is a must

• Experience with Month End Close procedures is needed

• QuickBooks proficiency is a key requirement

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel for financial data management

• Knowledge of Sage 100 software is a plus.

• Must be able to handle inventory (accrual, prepaid expenses, deferred revenue, etc)
