Compass Land Surveying has an immediate need for an experienced Survey Party Chief to work in our Nampa, ID office. This position will be managing a survey crew performing boundary, topography, ALTA, right of way, and construction surveys for public and private clients. Also responsible for the operation of survey equipment, taking accurate field notes, data collection, performing calculations and working with staff and clients on these projects. Direct and coach the crew members in the performance of their duties. The successful applicant will join a close-knit team of professionals specializing in various aspects of Land Surveying. Knowledge of survey practices and procedures5 years previous Surveying experience; 4 years previous experience running a crew of surveyors.LSIT certificate preferred but not required.Coordinate multiple projects simultaneouslyProvide equipment calibration and maintenanceProvide efficient, accurate, and complete survey field workTake field notes including depiction sketchesProvide field calculations and construction staking Qualifications:High School Diploma/GEDValid drivers licenseAbility to communicate effectivelyHighly motivatedAbility to lead a crew or work alone with the appropriate field equipment, complete field projects the first time without unnecessary return trips, and ability to perform basic office function downloading and processing field dataAbility to work effectively with our field and office teamAbility to maintain quality field proceduresAbility to train/mentor field technicians to effectively and efficiently accomplish the responsibilities described aboveResearch previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence, and other records to obtain data needed for surveys as directed by survey managerAbility to read design plans and understand deed language.
