Trinity Health Ortho Med Surg Unit Nurse Manager in Nampa, Idaho

Description:

We are accepting applications for a Nurse Manager to support the Ortho Med/Surg Unit at our Level III Trauma Center located in Nampa, Idaho.

This position reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer and manages a team on a 36-Bed Ortho Med/Surg Unit.

This unit treats patients with Medical, Surgical and Orthopedic needs with a wide range of medical conditions and illnesses that can include wound care and minor trauma cases.

As a Nurse Manager, you will assume direct responsibility for coordinating and supervising the Telemetry unit, including budget management; departmental performance; performance management; and quality improvement programs.

You will assess the needs of your customer groups/service lines and coordinate within the department to successfully achieve objectives. You will also have a voice in policy / procedure development and monitoring, multi-disciplinary business planning and program growth development.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Colleague must have an RN license, as defined by their primary work state (Idaho or Oregon), issued prior to hire date.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required; Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.

  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.

  • Other certifications may be required as identified in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.

  • 5 years nursing experience in acute care required; 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Meets Health System's Guiding Behaviors and Caring Standards including interpersonal communication and professional conduct expectations.

  • Successfully executes the established plans and services of the functional areas of responsibility through analysis, measurement and monitoring, reporting, and adjusting the direction, allocation and utilization of available resources.

  • Facilitates and manages team performance to the established performance levels by the effective use of Total Quality, Human Resources, and Financial skills, techniques, and communications.

  • Establishes and maintains a positive and productive working relationships with all relevant customers and suppliers.

  • Develops assigned aspects of the organizational strategic and tactical plans in concert with established planning processes.

  • Serves as liaison to Senior Management and Medical Staff for the functional areas of responsibility.

  • Ensures compliance with all applicable SARMC policies and procedures.
