Schedule : Combination of clinic work and assisting in surgery M-F.

Call : 1:5 rotation weekends (Fri-Sun)

Practice Highlights: Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (https://www.saintalphonsus.org/services/) (SAMG) is a physician led 500 provider multispecialty group that has an excellent opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) with a background in orthopedic hands who is willing to support a fast paced orthopedic hand surgeon.

Responsibilities include co-management of the orthopedic hand patient in collaboration with the patient’s primary orthopedic hand surgeon. This involves direct management of the patient including, but not limited to, the following exams, procedures and services: multiple joint injections, casting, pre-operative history and physicals, surgical assisting, post-operative follow up, and management of both acute conditions as well as chronic, non-surgical conditions. The advanced practice provider would be responsible for ordering, interpreting and evaluating laboratory and diagnostic data, prescribing medications, and developing a treatment plan. Additionally call responsibilities will require the support needed for general orthopedic surgeries and minor traumas.

The qualified candidate will exude passion about orthopedic health issues and demonstrate evidence of comprehensive assessment skills, expert clinical skills and problem-solving abilities.

Support: New APP will join a team of 4 full-time PA's and a sports med provider who support 5 surgeons from general orthopedics, sports medicine, foot & ankle, hand and spine surgery.

Requirements :

  • Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner medical license in Idaho; valid controlled substance registration with Idaho; Board of Pharmacy and DEA.

  • strong medical background and a desire to develop a practice to support a growing orthopedic practice. In providing this support, you will obtain Idaho medical licensure to maintain and strengthen the Health System's general internal program across all communities we serve.
