We believe skills are transferable and passion for our mission goes a long way.  Your role as a Coordinator, Latin American Education – Dominican Republic:      You will be overseeing the Dominican branch of the Padres education program. This role includes managing our staff of part-time English language and high school content teachers, creating and implementing schedules, collaborating with outside educational institutions, and organizing the learner experience for our minor league baseball players at our academy in the Dominican Republic. This role works in conjunction with the Padres education program in the United States. All the responsibilities we will trust you with:                                          * Supervise teaching staff of five part-time teachers at the Padres Academy * Oversee English language and high school programs (including DAWERE, CENAPEC, GED, among others) * Collaborate with education staff in the US to create consistency in programming across all Padres locations * Manage administrative needs of education program including communication with MLB, Ministerio de Educación, and High School Programs * Design and implement extracurricular programs and activities for players * Some teaching responsibilities expected * Carry out needs analysis to determine specific learning needs to inform program design * Assist players with language and life skills related tasks * Communicate with players and staff to coordinate class schedules * Create a positive learning environment * Availability to work some evenings and weekends * Represent the Club in a positive and professional manner at all times * Other duties as assigned Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most:          * Proficient computer skills including experience with MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc., and general knowledge of basic office equipment including copier, laser printer, telephone, and computer * Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and effectively work well with others in a collaborative, respectful manne * Exceptional time management and organizational skills with capacity to handle high volumes of detailed work, multi-task and manage projects on strict deadlines * Maintain professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion, integrity, and accountability * Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance * Native-like fluency in Spanish and English  You will be required to meet the following: * Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment * 4-year Bachelor’s Degree, or education equivalent, preferably in Education, TESOL or similar field * Minimum 2 years previous teaching experience in ESL or education management * Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours as needed * Able to travel to and from the Padres Academy in Najayo daily * Minimum physical requirements:  able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds * As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check The San Diego Padres are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
