Description:

What You Will Do

  • Demonstrates knowledge and indications for different types of stress tests.

  • Performs diagnostic cardiac exercise stress test on symptomatic cardiac patients. Types of stress tests this position performs include:

  • Treadmill stress test (may also include an echocardiogram following the treadmill portion)

  • Nuclear stress test

  • Pharmacologic stress test

  • Works collaboratively with cardiac sonographers, nuclear medical technologists and registered nurses.

  • Follows MHSM Cardiovascular protocols for the following: patient assessment, preparation, ECG monitoring for changes, test quality and monitoring patient within the recovery stage.

  • Communicates with the Cardiologist regarding any significant abnormal ECG changes.

  • Documents appropriate information throughout the entirety for physician interpretation.

  • Responsible for cleaning equipment, and for equipment repair notification.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Science or similar

  • Preferred : Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or ExercisePhysiology

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification

  • Preferred : American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Exercise Specialist certification

  • 600 hours in clinical stress testing internship

  • One year of experience in related field
