Intermountain Health Medical Director, Provider Experience - Canyons Region in Murray, Utah

Job Description:

Position Purpose

The Region Medical Director, Provider Experience’s purpose is to facilitate, within their assigned region, Intermountain Health’s enterprise strategy for the professional fulfillment of Intermountain employed and affiliated physicians and APPs. This position partners with the other Region Leader to coordinate the strategic execution across all three regions.

Scope

This is a regional leadership role and reports to the Region Chief Medical Officer.

Essential Job Duties

Organizational Positioning

Serves as primary interface between regional and enterprise leadership on physician well-being, professional fulfillment, leadership development and engagement issues.

As a member of Provider Experience Council, advocates policies, practices and initiatives that promote physician/APP well-being, physician/APP leadership development and professional fulfillment.

Develop relationships with hospital Medical Executive Committees, hospital leadership, leaders of affiliated and contract affiliated healthcare groups.

Integration into Operations Implementation

Ensures local, market and regional integration of physician/APP well-being principles in all relevant health system operations improvement efforts.

Works with region leaders to plan for continued operational improvement that facilitates ease of practice and work-life integration.

Program Management

Oversees the development, implementation, and prioritization of programs to improve both organizational and personal health and resilience and leadership.

Monitors program implementation; assess efficacy of interventions toward organizational goals; report outcomes.

Participates in review of engagement surveys

Participates with physician and APP leaders in development and review of leadership development

Oversee development, administration, and analysis of metrics to be used in evaluation of effectiveness of policies, programs, and surveys.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • M.D, D.O or Advance Practice degree. Education must be obtained through an accredited institution and will be verified.

  • Active Medical Licensure required in the region assigned.

  • Demonstrates progressive leadership experience in a health care delivery system and/or large Multi-Specialty Medical Group.

  • Holds active privileges or is qualified to be credentialed at an Intermountain Hospital and SelectHealth.

  • Must be able to demonstrate effective leadership skills and the ability to work effectively and collegially with clinical and non-clinical staff.

  • Exceptional character and integrity and commitment to mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Healthcare.

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Desired traits include: peer respect engendering trust among others, proficient at building teams and forging partnerships, willingness and ability to resolve conflict and enhance effectiveness of others, ability to effectively communicate vision and enroll others, zeal for change and bias to action, and ability to delegate responsibility and empower others.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Public Health or other business-related field.

  • A national reputation and network that will facilitate partnership identification.

  • Interact with others requiring employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information.

  • Operate computers, telephones, office equipment, and manipulate paper requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.

  • See and read computer monitors and documents.

  • Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.

  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$7.25 - $999.99
