Peoples Bank Strategic Transformation Manager in Munster, Indiana

JOB SUMMARY

The Strategic Transformation Manager is responsible for the strategic direction of Peoples Bank's enterprise project management, change management, and business analyst functions, building and leading the Strategic Transformation team, and serving as a bank-wide resource. The Strategic Transformation Manager is responsible for leading the team that drives business transformation initiatives throughout the entire lifecycle, including post implementation monitoring. This includes contributing to the assessment and prioritization of changes and business transformation projects accompanied by comprehensive project plans. The Strategic Transformation Manager will lead the team that maintains a repository for current best practices. They work with senior leadership and other stakeholders to execute the strategic direction of the Bank's strategic plans. They will ensure that both internal and external customer needs are at the forefront of what we do and making recommendations to do what's best for the entire bank.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
  • Leadership
    • Establish metrics and oversee EPMO portfolio of projects.
    • Ensure team maintains the enterprise-wide product ownership RACI matrix of technology systems stakeholders.
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a talented Strategic Transformation team comprised of project managers, change managers, and business analysts.
    • Lead integration project management efforts related to mergers and acquisitions.
    • Support team processed by helping remove obstacles and escalation.
  • Strategic Transformation Function
    • Coach colleagues through Strategic Transformation functions.
    • Manage and report on the strategic tracker.
    • Support the EPMO process by helping remove obstacles and escalation.
    • Work through budget process with project owners.
    • Project manage business transformation initiatives: align people, process, and technology.
    • Ensure alignment between EPMO and change management.
    • Serve as backup change manager.
    • Engage with business analyst functions with the perspective of what's best for the Bank.
  • Anticipates and identifies challenges that will impact the successful execution of the Bank's strategy and stays informed of new developments in business processes and technology to achieve the Banks goals.
  • Own Strategic Transformation products including Smartsheet and Miro.
  • Research, recommend, and on-board new Strategic Transformation vendors.
  • Negotiates contracts, license agreements, and terms and conditions with vendors.
  • Manages Strategic Transformation operating and projects budget. Actively participates in the budget and strategic planning processes.
  • Reviews Strategic Transformation group profitability, approves invoices and manages budget
  • Maintains an expert level knowledge and serve as subject matter expert on project, change, and business analyst industry best practices, trends, procedures, agreements, regulatory changes, and associated risks.
  • Attends applicable vendor conferences, user group meetings, and participates in periodic calls.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS

The Strategic Transformation Manager reports to the EVP, COO and works closely with the Strategic Transformation team. This position interacts with the executive team, bank-wide subject matter experts, project teams, and technology groups. Frequent contact with senior management can be expected.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • A minimum 10+ years of project management experience
  • 3+ years people management experience
  • Significant operational experience in either the banking industry or similar
  • Deep knowledge of banking technology
  • Experience in various methodologies including ITIL, PROSCI, and PMI
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong leader hip, interpersonal, written, presentation and verbal communication ability with senior stakeholders
  • Negotiate priorities and expectations in order to align product goals with customer needs
  • Experience in budgeting and fiscal management
  • Ability to work under rapid timelines with changing priorities
  • Expertise in conflict resolution
  • Proficiency with related software tools including but not limited to Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and other project management tools
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
  • Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere
  • Forward looking with a holistic approach
  • Organized with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills
  • Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization
  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others
