GPS based machine control and guidance was introduced in the construction industry over 25 years ago, and Caterpillar has been at the forefront of making Cat Grade a best-in-class solution. Job Summary

This position will serve as the subject-matter expert in the field of machine control and guidance, including digital jobsite management solutions. This role will provide deep product and application expertise including jobsite GPS / radio infrastructure, handling of digital terrain models as well as 3d digital solutions (file transfers, 3d visualization, etc.). This role will be leading regional and supporting global Go-to-Market initiatives for Cat Grade products, as well as taking a global perspective in feeding our machine and technology business partners with customer requirements for future development.

What You Will Do:

  • Act as the subject matter expert for the field team and dealers for the overall Cat Grade portfolio (machine and digital platform).

  • Develop and provide training to regional specific situations. Deliver training about the overall Cat Grade solution, installation, machine operation, digital platform, basic trouble shooting, 3d digital platform and offering to Cat internal and dealer organizations.

  • Support internal partners, dealers and customers with the on-site installation, calibration, commissioning, operation and basic trouble shooting of the 2D / 3D grade systems, including digital platforms, infrastructure & digital terrain models if applicable.

  • Support Go-To-Market execution of Cat Grade in the region and specific dealer initiatives as part of their Technology growth plans.

  • Work with the technology and machine product marketing and sales team to understand the competitive battlefield, taking a global perspective in feeding the ‘voice of customer’ back into the organization & engineering teams as Functional Requirements to support future NPI (New Product Introduction) programs.

What You Have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or business, or equivalent of relevant job experience.

  • Products and Services – usuallyaround 5 years of progressively responsible job-related experience in marketing, sales, engineering or new product development for 3D machine control & guidance.

  • Technical Excellence - a broad knowledge and understanding of the Construction Industry segments and technologies which help customer’s job site efficiency and safety.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Relationship Management skills and the ability to execute through a team of Caterpillar, Dealer, and Customer personnel.

  • Effective Communication – both written and verbal – that range from operational and technical discussions to Dealer Principal and Executive presentations.

  • Fluent knowledge of English, and European languages (German, French, Italian, Spanish) will be an additional advantage.

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Additional experience in a similar role in the machine control and guidance space.

  • Additional experience in the technology field for Construction Industries or Mining.

  • Demonstrate the ability to understand and articulate technical performance and application knowledge to be regarded as the "subject matter expert" in 2D / 3D Grade, including machine integration side, jobsite GPS / radio infrastructure and handling of digital terrain models, as well as the 2d/3d digital platforms.

Additional Information:

Business travel requirement - up to 60%.

A valid Swiss work permit or Swiss or EU-25/EFTA citizenship is required for this position.
