Position Overview:

As a leader in Operations for our Pittsburgh production site, the Plant Manager drives a culture of commitment to safety, health and environment as it is ingrained as a core value. This position will identify opportunities for operational excellence to achieve world class performance as a highly efficient production facility. As a leader, the Plant Manager encourages and gains sitewide engagement in projects that drive lean methodology, utilizing required operating procedures, standardized work instructions, and job safety analysis.

The Plant Manager role will oversee the day-to-day operations delegating responsibility and work through the key managers in Production while interfacing and partnering with Product Management, Quality, Finance, Procurement, Engineering, and Human Resources to ensure business objectives align. Additionally, he/she will have a successful track record of developing employees and crafting bench strength for an organization. Experience working for a matrixed, international organization is beneficial.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Embody a safety mindset and advance the safety culture ensuring compliance with all regulations for employees, vendors, and customers.

  • Ensuring excellent customer satisfaction by providing products & services from the factory on-time and with the highest quality

  • Facilitate and coach production management continuously delivering results year after year.

  • Ensure diversity, inclusion and involvement in an employee growth environment.

  • Drive process excellence in every step of the production process driving continuous improvement to all site metrics (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Cost and People).

  • Accountable for operational expenses with expectation of delivering on budget targets.

  • Minimize non-conformance costs through a zero defect culture.

  • Employ lean methods of standardization and 5S.

  • Reduce costs with high utilization, productivity of labor hours and efficient inventory turns.

  • Be a champion for change, introducing innovative solutions.

  • Strong communication skills to communicate to shop-floor employees, customers & executives, both written and verbal

  • Act as advisor for troubleshooting and resolving complex problems within multi-departments and/or cross-functional areas.

  • Experience with supplier management, budgeting and business financial planning .

To thrive in this role, you have:

  • Typically 10+ years of successful experience in a directly related field and successful demonstration of responsibilities presented above.

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Experience in electrical / mechanical assembly production preferred

  • SAP knowledge (or equivalent material management software system)

  • Cross functional collaboration

  • Problem solving and lean methods

  • Leadership skills for delegation, motivation, and performance management

  • 10% -15% travel required

The base salary range for this position in Homestead, PA is $120,300 - $162,400. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications. The annual incentive target is 10% of the base salary .
