Job Title: Screw Machine Operator

Job Description

Candidates will be operating a variety of screw machines. Responsibilities include setting up machines, utilizing gauges, micrometers, calipers, depth, and dimensional micrometers, and performing quality checks. A basic understanding of how to use the tools required to set up and operate the machines is essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of screw machines.

• Set up machines efficiently and accurately.

• Utilize gauges, micrometers, calipers, depth, and dimensional micrometers.

• Perform quality checks to ensure product standards are met.

• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Essential Skills

• At least 3 years of experience manually setting up CNC machines.

• Ability to read and interpret gauges, micrometers, and calipers.

• Mechanical and mathematical aptitude.

• Blueprint reading experience.

• CNC Lathe operator experience.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience running Davenport or Wickman Screw machines.

Work Environment

The shifts are 1st (6am-4:30pm) and 2nd (4pm-2:30am), Monday-Friday. The location is very loud, and employees must be safety conscious due to handling heavy and sharp metal materials. The facility is not temperature controlled, being hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Employees are required to wear steel-toed boots, jeans or pants with no holes, and a long or short sleeve T-shirt. Safety procedures and precautions are of utmost importance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mundelein, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
