Your day at NTT DATA

The Networking Managed Services Engineer (L2) is a developing engineering role, responsible for providing a managed service to clients to ensure that their IT infrastructure and systems remain operational through proactively monitoring, identifying, investigating, and resolving technical incidents and problems and restoring service to clients.

The primary objective of this role is to proactively review client requests or tickets and apply technical/process knowledge to resolve them without breaching service level agreement (SLA) and focuses on second-line support for incidents and requests with a medium level of complexity.

The Networking Managed Services Engineer (L2) may also contribute to / support on project work as and when required.

What you'll be doing

Job Requirement:

  • Five (5) to Seven (7) years industry experience in a network operations/support environment;

  • Cisco CCNP or equivalent;

  • Knowledge on ITIL framework , Cisco Network Devices , HP Network Devices

  • Technical ability to understand the issues related to day to day operations

  • Hands-on experience on network operations, deployment and network projects

  • Technical ability to provide Support to L1 engineers;

  • Technical ability to provide basic fault finding and fault escalation;

  • Good understanding of incident management activities;

  • Good ability to follow and documented operational processes;

  • Basic understanding of Ethernet, Spanning Tree, TCP/IP, Routing (RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP);

  • Basic understanding of IOS and CatOS;

  • Experience with ticket management and change request management systems;

  • Experience with network monitoring / management tools/ analysis tools;

  • Experience with liaising with carriers and vendors for faults; and

  • Good communications and interpersonal skills.

Qualification: B.E / B.Tech. with CCNP or equivalent certification

Desired Experience:

Any Technical Graduate with hands on experience with networking, routing, switching is necessary with minimum 5 – 7 years of experience.

Network engineer with good networking technology skills; Excellent understanding of cross platform technologies; and should be familiar with Cisco based technologies and products. Knowledge on HP devices

(working hours 24x7, shift based)

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

  • Must be a pleasing personality with effective spoken and written communication in English and well in documentation.

  • Must be good team player.
