The Infrastructure team within AWS provides network and datacenter capacity, that are the foundations of our retail and cloud business. Amazon Data Services India Private Limited (ADSIPL) is seeking a creative, driven, and forward-thinking sourcing and procurement professional to join our Data Center Services Procurement team to support the India Data Center construction space.

This role focuses on programmatically identifying and onboarding construction and associated CAPEX material/equipment specialists and OEMs in India and beyond. The role innovates and creates tools/mechanisms to develop and leverage market intelligence to in turn develop a sustainable supplier base in India to ensure a sustainable supplier pool is maintained and continually assessed for capacity delivery. You will create regional/country specific sourcing plans and quickly deliver these (through supplier onboarding, interviews and contract negotiations) to enable internal customer teams to meet tight schedules. It is critical that you identify and build innovative and systematical new ways to forge partnerships with new suppliers, evaluate suppliers' performance against clearly defined metrics, and balance priorities of, both, Amazon and our suppliers to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. You will build mechanisms to monitor the effectiveness of these new partnerships and create processes to ensure we take appropriate actions to ensure ongoing competitive sustainability of our supplier markets for upcoming projects. We are focused on our customers and empowering them to have a more significant impact in their roles. This role engages in/and ensures ethical, transparent and professional transactions and takes ownership of the CAPEX services procurement functions to maintain healthy supplier dynamics, promote supplier diversity, and consistently improve supplier performance.

• Construction material supply chain sourcing and program management across APJC portfolio

• Manage General Contractor and Construction categories in India and beyond

• Achieve cost savings through bidding, negotiations and strategic initiatives

• Analyze category data and metrics to establish and implement procurement category strategies

• Understand trends in customers’ needs and concerns across categories and regions to influence customers’ priorities

• Provide in-depth knowledge about the supply market and supplier capabilities, technically and geographically, to the business.

• Develop mechanisms and metrics to track supplier performance related to delivery, quality, and cost

• Create supplier scorecards to measure and track supplier performance

• Lead business reviews to discuss best practices and issues and to ultimately improve supplier performance and strengthen business partnerships

• Innovate within the procurement space, automating and/or improving tools or processes to better support the Procurement Lifecycle

• Provide support throughout the contracting process, as well as management of contracts post-execution

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant construction industry experience performing RFP documentation and bidding, contract negotiation, contract management, and BOQ analysis.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business, Commerce or relevant business discipline from an accredited university or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Strong leader who can drive category strategies, develop pricing models, and has influence across all levels of an organization

• Demonstrated ability as a Project Manager who can prioritize workload and manage complex projects within cost and schedule

• Strong business judgement, instincts, and organizational skills

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Highly proficient in MS Office

• Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners to overcome obstacles and deliver results

• Some travel is required (<25%)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Supply Chain Management or relevant business discipline from an accredited university

• Ability to communicate and report on market intelligence data, including commodity trends and labor indexes

• Demonstrated success in driving strategies and analyzing market trends

• Experience in mission critical/data center, engineering, an infrastructure service provider or similar technology company

• Developing market intelligence to communicate across the organization

• Experience with creating Procurement systems and tools

• Proven ability to implement complex category strategies globally

• Proven ability to deep dive and develop innovative ideas for process challenges

• Proven ability to deliver within an occasionally ambiguous cross-functional environment
