Burns & McDonnell India is looking for an experienced Piping Designer interested in growing their

(GFS) business unit handles engineering of facilities in the North America region which includes food &

beverage facilities, consumer product facilities, aerospace facilities, life sciences facilities, hyper scale

datacenters, commercial facilities, healthcare facilities and utility plants. The Mumbai office has a full

complement of professionals with expertise in architecture, civil, electrical, control & automation, fire

protection, mechanical, structural engineering, and project management.

The successful candidate will report to the Life Science Section manager and be involved in designing

piping systems including process and utility section on various life sciences projects including biotech,

pharmaceutical and medical devices manufacturing facilities.

Job Duties: o Design process and utility piping systems from conceptual phase through detailed design completion as per the project requirements and in compliance with industry standards, applicable regulations, and codes. o Lead piping design activities like layout, supporting, pipe rack design, piping specials, Equipment & Pipe components modeling all the way through preparation of deliverables which include but is not limited to general arrangement drawings, piping layouts, piping support standard, spool drawings, MTO etc. by working in a 3D environment. o Knowledge of piping design documents. o Review of 3D Model, clash checks and its resolution. o Provide technical and design guidance to project team members. o Responsible for adhering to company adopted QA/QC procedures. o Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies. o Responsible for effective coordinating and collaborating with other engineering disciplines. o Regularly meets and corresponds with clients or outside personnel. o Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

o Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or ITI /NCTVT – Mechanical Draftsman from a

reputed institute.

o Minimum 7 to 10 years of working experience using 3D design tool (Plant 3D, Revit)

o Consulting experience will be a plus.

o Strong knowledge of standard piping engineering techniques, principles, and

procedures.

o Good understanding of piping codes & standards like ASME Bioprocessing Equipment

Standard [BPE], ASME B16.1 and ASME B31.3. o Competent in the use of 2D and 3D CAD tools - AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Revit, Navisworks,

BIM.

o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

o Willing to advance in career by taking increased engineering design responsibilities by

closely working with discipline lead engineer.

o A committed team player able to work on own initiative.

o Good Communication skills (verbal & written) and ability to self-check and produce

accurate work.

o Microsoft Office Tools – MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, Outlook, OneNote

• Key Skills:

o Piping Design, layout, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Isometrics, Revit.
