Citigroup C11 – Finance Quality Assurance; Spot RWA Conformance Testing; Analyst in Mumbai, India

Global Finance Quality Assurance (GFQA) is a first line of defense function in Finance Chief Operating Officer (COO) Organization. Which ensures comprehensive end-to-end coverage of the firm’s spot risk-weighted assets (RWA) calculation and reporting via Conformance Testing, Transaction Testing and Report Production Controls Testing. The testing scope is prioritized over a multi-year horizon and leverages a risk-based approach, to assess targeted areas of testing for the teams.

This role will support Spot RWA testing, with a focus on conducting rule-based testing to support, monitor, and assess the accuracy of Regulatory Capital and RWA calculation and adherence to reporting instructions. The role entails developing test cases and test scripts, executing the tests, conducting root cause analysis on identified issues, and escalating potential problems. The Analyst will also evaluate testing results to make recommendations to management for improvements to the RWA production process and coordinate with Capital Planning, Treasury, and Finance Transformation Office leadership to ensure the identified issues are appropriately prioritized and remediated.

The Analyst will partner extensively with colleagues across Finance, the RWA workstreams, technology, and front office business lines to develop and implement audit-style testing protocols to ensure the transparency and appropriateness of data inputs, calculation logic, and reporting of Spot RWA balances and ensure completeness and accuracy of testing results to senior management.

The ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and excellent people skills are required given the level of interaction with senior managers, RWA Controllers, various business units, auditors, and regulators.

Analyst Role and Responsibilities

  • Providing support to developing and employing an "audit-style" approach to RWA quality assurance.

  • Assist in testing & execution for RWA quality assurance reviews.

  • Assist in the coordination and testing & execution activities.

  • Help to develop and define testing & execution approaches, document testing activities, status, and report results.

  • Help in process and system testing, including writing test scripts, documenting issues and disseminate results.

  • Performs other duties and functions as assigned.

  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

  • Bachelor’s/university degree- within the financial services industry preferred.

  • A general understanding of financial products, and a drive to develop an understanding of capital markets &/or institutional banking.

  • Quick learner with excellent communication skills, team orientation, and ability to work with counterparts in different areas of organization.

  • Proficient in using data management and analysis tools including basic Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • A self-starter with ability to independently work on multiple deliverables concurrently.

  • Strong attention to detail with proven ability to distil complex ideas into simple stories.

  • A willingness to learn and apply your best effort on new and unfamiliar tasks.
