The Operations Transformation team is a global group responsible for driving the central automation strategy for Operations. We're seeking someone to join our team as a Director in Discovery, Data & Analytics The Operations Transformation team is a global group responsible for driving the central automation strategy for Operations. This is an exciting space to be, working with key stakeholders across Operations, Technology, Business & firmwide stakeholders to deliver strategic transformation initiatives for all business areas (ISG, Wealth & Investment Management) and their respective Operations groups

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is a Team Specialist position at Director level within the within Change, Analytics & Strategy, which is responsible for developing operating and technology strategies, managing and executing transformation initiatives, leading Agile fleet activities, driving innovation, developing analytics solutions and delivering business outcomes

What you'll do in the role:

• Serve as a subject matter expert within functional area, working with Team Manager to manage processes, risks and/or projects, proposing and implementing improvements/changes • Act as key problem solver for area or expertise, applying detailed knowledge to address unique or novel situations, recognise risks and draw out key issues • Coordinate work, train and develop other team members where required, including task allocation, and project contribution

What you'll bring to the role:

• Ability to lead by example, work with drive and determination, and put forward challenging views to senior levels • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of functional area and operational/compliance policies and procedures of their team • Ability to operate independently across the majority of day-to-day responsibilities • Culture carrier across Operations, embracing the Firm's core values and acting as a role model • Experience with business process improvement initiatives and strong grasp of concepts to drive Operational Excellence (e.g. Root Cause Problem Solving, deep-dive process mapping and discovery) • Evidence of participation in change management and continuous development projects within a complex global organization, preferably Financial Services • Ability to act as a bridge between multiple Operations and Technology areas • Ability to deal with ambiguity and define approaches to bring un-focused issues to resolution • Ability to multitask and prioritize; ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines • Excellent written/verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and strong presentation / training skills for interacting with colleagues, departmental management in a cross-divisional setting • Strong business analysis and business process management skills (e.g. defining a new process, executing the process, focusing on continuous improvement) • Able to operate independently and confidently in dealing with varied stakeholders at all levels of the organization • Self-confident/motivated in achieving business outcomes in collaborative team settings and through virtual work with teams in multiple locations • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of tools, including Power BI • Project Management certification • Knowledge of Morgan Stanley / Morgan Stanley Operations • Professional experience in banking and financial services (preferred in capital markets).At least 4 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
