Background on the Position

Credit Team Lead: International Bank Lending/Securities Based Lending Products

The role will reside within the Firm Risk Management’s Credit Risk Management area which is a team dedicated to evaluating credit risk transactions considering the availability and appropriateness of arrangements for reducing risk or risk mitigation. The department also assigns Internal Credit Ratings; establishes and manages credit risk limits in accordance with the risk tolerance established by the Board; monitors and reports on credit risk exposures on a regular basis to the Chief Risk Officer and Firm Risk Management. CRM interacts with key internal and external stakeholders, including our teams in First Line of Defense to ensure that credit risk assessments are accurate and support business decisions.

Primary Responsibilities • Mumbai Credit Risk lead for Wealth Management (“WM) Ultra High and High Net Worth Securities Based Lending businesses • Client base: Domestic (US) and International (non-US) HNW and UHNW clients. • Oversight through active management Mumbai Credit Professionals to ensure: timely review of transactions, annual reviews and ad hoc/interim credit reviews with focus on review and challenge of business unit submission • Active team oversight and training to ensure consistency, accuracy and rigor of analysis, meeting internal and regulatory requirements as well as best in practice standards • Oversight and ownership of credit view on ratings and recommendations to ensure timely and accurate Credit and Regulatory Ratings • Appropriate and timely escalation to Mumbai Team Lead involving individual relationship or portfolio observations including timely and accurate recommendations regarding changes in credit classification and risk rating. . • Communicate and work closely with the Us counterparts in CRM as well as Business Unit, Loan Operations and Legal • Lead or participate in ad-hoc projects / audits / regulatory exams / procedure, policy, and model reviews. • Train, mentor junior staff • Foster and support an environment of critical risk thinking, ownership and efficiency

*Experience * • Bachelor’s degree required. • Minimum 7 years credit experience in lending (private bank and/or investment banking) • International Lending in first or second line of defense roles, preferred • Corporate Finance experience a plus • Detail oriented with exceptional analytical skills; financial spreading • Previous experience managing junior teams • Ability to independently review and challenge business unit recommendations and meet stated turn times • Possess excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills • An interest in working in a fast-paced environment, often balancing multiple high priority deliverables • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment
