Overview of the job

The role focuses primarily on efficient administrative management of investigations and enforcement cases related to the protection of our brands, authentication of suspect products and providing support to the regional Brand Protection Program (BPP). We are enthusiastic about training motivated individuals who possess exceptional strategic thinking and creative problem-solving abilities. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, as is a genuine passion for learning and practicing within the anti-illicit trade domain. While prior trademark and/or investigative experience is beneficial, it is not a mandatory requirement.

Your team

You will report to the Senior Manager & Senior Counsel based in Mumbai and accountable to Director & Assistant General Counsel overseeing the BPP for India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA | AMA-West). This is an opportunity to work with a dynamic team of legal counsels and legal professionals that are strategic, business-focused and partner closely with our business clients to serve and win with consumers globally.

Success in the role will require you to help drive business results in AMA-West by combining legal expertise, practical business judgment, creative problem solving, critical thinking, and good communication skills to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities of the role

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage administrative aspects of investigations and enforcement cases related to the protection of our brands.

  • Assist in the authentication of suspect products, working closely with the team to gather and analyze relevant information.

  • Support the regional BPP by coordinating activities, maintaining documentation, and ensuring timely execution of tasks.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather data, review evidence, and prepare reports, as required.

  • Assist in the implementation of brand protection strategies and initiatives to safeguard our brands.

  • Conduct research and analysis to identify potential trademark infringements and counterfeit products both online and offline.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of brand protection activities, including case files, databases, and dashboards.

  • Provide support in drafting correspondence, preparing legal documents, and communicating with external parties, such as law enforcement agencies.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in brand protection.

Other administrative responsibilities:

  • Organize Meetings: align schedule, handle logistics, assist in the preparation of meeting summary and agenda, circulate meeting materials.

  • Reporting: Update Brand Protection database for investigations, enforcement efforts and other Forensics requests. Prepare/ process expense and end of the year reports and liaise with travel agency, when needed.

  • Keep up with technology advancements and look for opportunities to improve/simplify processes within Legal. May be required to work with the global team that’s looking into systems improvement and may involve occasional night calls.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years’ experience as a paralegal or similar in-house role.

  • Interpersonal skills to persuade, influence and adapt communication style to different situations and individuals.

  • You are innovative, ready to bring new ideas in how to work more efficiently and simplify work processes.

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, including working experience with Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, and SharePoint –

  • Ability to create visually appealing and data-driven presentations in PowerPoint.

  • Experience in data analysis and visualization using Excel and Power BI.

  • Familiarity with SharePoint for document management and collaboration.

  • Prior experience in trademark and/or brand protection is advantageous but not required.
