Citigroup Assistant Vice President - Business Analysis - Mumbai Information Services Group in Mumbai, India

Role Outline/Job Summary

The Person will be responsible for planning, building up and managing the overall delivery of the Information services support to our Clients.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Managing the information services team of around 40 researchers

  • Quality assurance and Maintaining service metrics

  • Stakeholder Management - Working in close coordination with stakeholders on various projects

  • People Management

  • Training

Key Deliverables / Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Managing the research team to ensure the KPIs are met and address for any variances

  • Develop new methodologies to improve quality and productivity of research.

  • Own and Responsible for end to end development of the projects/programs assigned

  • Stakeholder Management – Work closely with Stakeholders to enhance support and delivery to our clients

  • Ensure the right team structure and organization is put in place for the new development unit. Excellent track record in Team management (especially large teams) and interaction of vendors/staffed model

  • Responsible for recruitment of the staff and building a strong team

  • Responsible for grooming talent. Hands on mentoring and developing skills of Supervisors and Shift Leaders

  • People manage employees in terms of career paths, year-end processes, skill development, leave planning etc.

  • Responsible for their ongoing performance management

  • Proactively analyze operational risks and implement corrective actions

  • Managing Risk and compliance matters pertaining to the team and ensure zero defaults

  • Resolve any problems related to quality and compliance promptly.

  • Maintain documentation of processes, problems and their resolutions for reference purposes.

  • Managing vendor relationships and expectations

Qualifications / Skills / Experience :

8+ years of experience preferably in research or similar domain.

Experience in managing a team

Skills :

Ability to manage a fast paced 24x7 operation

  • Knowledge of basic information retrieval systems like Factiva and Thomson products

  • Good understanding of different types of business information: i.e. public and private company filing requirements / data, News, M&A and Capital Issues, Fundamentals, Broker Research and Earnings Estimates, Ownership data, etc

  • Good Financial Knowledge

  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)

  • Persuasive interpersonal skills

  • Relationship management skills -- ability to develop and sustain positive partnerships and be a strong leader

  • Strong stake holders management experience

  • Migration project exposure is a Strong plus

  • Strong team player skills, should be able to work collaboratively across teams and share knowledge and information appropriately

  • Solid experience in managing relatively large team

  • Must be able to work well under pressure with high level of accuracy and to prioritize workload in order to deliver results to tight deadlines

Ability to analyze problems or information systematically and in depth

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
