Microsoft Corporation Sales Operations Manager in Multiple Locations, Switzerland

The Sales Enablement & Operations (SE&O) team plays an essential role in translating Microsoft’s Commercial Strategy to a local execution plan and driving operational excellence to achieve the greatest results possible. The Sales Operations Manager is a business partner and trusted advisor to a variety of business stakeholders including Sales Managers, Sellers, Sales Excellence, Finance, Business Program Managers, the Area/Subsidiary Leadership Team, and Corporate Enablement & Operations Program owners. To be successful in this role you need to have strong knowledge of Microsoft processes and ability to act proactively and partner effectively with a wide range of business partners.

This role reports to the Business Sales Operations & Sales Excellence (BSO&E) Lead in Switzerland who leads the team of Sales Operations Managers, Sales Excellence Managers and Business Program Manager and thus is responsible for sales operations planning processes using qualitative and quantitative methods and collaborates with stakeholders to align, refine, and improve planning and execution for the Switzerland’s area/subsidiary and in line with the Corporation and strategy.

Responsibilities

The role is responsible for driving results and impact collaboratively across the following areas:

  • Sales Operations : Lead local fiscal year planning, refine processes, and monitor risks and growth opportunities. Drive cross-segment sales operations using qualitative and quantitative methods for Blueprint, Territory and Quota Planning. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders (e.g., corporate, segment leaders, sales excellence, finance, human resources) to align, refine, and improve sales operations planning and execution.

  • Sales Discipline : Drive sales operations programs, address revenue allocation/disputes, and analyze data to remove performance blockers. Create actionable recommendations which drive Consumption and Usage, and Pipeline excellence.

  • Trusted Advisor : Build trust and support the local sales organization to be successful. Leverage your central know-how to bring different stakeholders together. Partner closely with Corp and Regional teams. Translate our worldwide strategies into local guidance and decisions.

  • Seller Transformation : Provide coaching and proactively grownew seller capabilities. Reward and reinforce desired behavior to drive Consumption and Usage. Help the local sales organization to be successful and equipped for next fiscal year requirements.  

  • Special responsibilities for this role:

  • Modernize Sales Operations : Drive local adoption of the Global Sales Operations Center (GSOC) services. Lead standardization of processes and tools to enhance sellers’ productivity.

  • Create insights which a ccelerate business growth : Equip business stakeholders with actionable insights that drive Consumption and Usage. Provide data-driven insights about sales execution, based on standard reporting, that driveaccountability and action.

  • Lead Blueprint : Drive next year’s organizational/headcount footprint. Provide recommendations to maximize impact in alignment with Microsoft’s WW strategy.

  • Support Territory Planning : Coach and help the team to drive alignment and smooth execution in alignment with WW requirements.

  • Support Quota Planning : Use data-driven insights to identify trends, track sales performance, and provide recommendations for improving sales productivity and revenue growth.

  • Build Skills and Capabilities : Identify areas where additional training and support are needed, seek to address these gaps proactively. Stay informed about Microsoft's training and development programs, certifications, and resources.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualification s

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Sales, Accounting, Information Systems, Social Sciences or related field experience AND several years experience in sales operations, project management, analytics, compensation, sales performance analytics, finance/business analyst, process improvement, business development, consulting, finance, marketing, or a related field

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to structure complex topics/situations/data and to build (conceptional) frameworks to handle them.

  • Strong analytical and data handling skills (e.g., Excel, PowerPivot, Power BI, Power Apps)

  • Ability to generate actionable business & performance insights incl. recommendations.

  • Clarity in communication and superior collaboration skills (e.g., cross-functional incl. sales discipline)

  • Executive exposure & cross-functional stakeholder management

  • Project- and program management skills

  • Attention for details (precision) while not losing the bigger picture (context)

  • Ability to learn, adapt, and fail quickly.

  • Ability to prioritize and simultaneous execute multiple projects and tasks.

  • Innovate to deliver standards which enable speed, efficiency, and scale in the business.

  • Knowledge on business processes, sales operations & enablement, programs, and execution
