Adecco US, Inc. Maintenance Mechanic 2nd Shift in Mukwonago, Wisconsin

Summary: The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing repairs and preventative maintenance on all production and lab equipment. This role involves training and ensuring that department personnel perform their duties safely and efficiently. The Maintenance Mechanic supports all department personnel in maintaining equipment cost-effectively without compromising product quality.

Essential Duties:

  • Troubleshoot and Maintain Equipment:

  • Handle lab and production equipment such as molding machines, mixers, extrusion machines, forklifts, floor scrubbers, etc.

  • Perform typical building and facility upkeep.

  • Preventative Maintenance:

  • Conduct preventative maintenance on all lab and production equipment.

  • Perform tasks involving light hydraulics, pneumatics, metal fabrication, welding, forklift repair, electrical troubleshooting, and electrical repair.

  • Part Requisition and Project Review:

  • Address part requisition needs for timely repairs in collaboration with Maintenance Mechanic A.

  • Review upcoming projects with Maintenance Mechanic A to determine the best use of manpower.

  • Supervision and Quality Control:

  • Oversee and monitor the scheduling or completion of work logs, training, and cross-training of all new and existing maintenance or janitorial employees.

  • Ensure the quality of work performed by maintenance and janitorial staff.

  • Maintain cleanliness in maintenance areas throughout shifts, ensuring readiness for shift transitions.

  • Interface with Other Departments:

  • Regularly interface with Office, Lab, Production, and Materials supervision to review repair needs, follow up on repairs, and address janitorial issues.

  • Review Maintenance Logs to monitor job progress and prepare probationary and annual performance reviews in consultation with the Maintenance Supervisor.

  • Compliance and Safety:

  • Adhere to and enforce Badger Color Employee and Safety policies and programs.

  • Conduct incident reports and accident investigations as required.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a back-up for Maintenance Mechanics during absences.

  • Participate in the Shift Emergency Response team for monitoring and handling potential spills, fire, or tornado situations. Certification in Basic First Aid and CPR as required by NFPA / Electrical Safety Regulations.

  • Assist the Supervisor in determining the best method of treatment for injured or sick employees on the shift.

  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

  • Work extended hours/weekends when assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, and at least 2 years as a Maintenance Lead or Foreman.

  • Preferred experience in a plastics industry environment (extrusion or injection machines).

  • High-level skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, metal fabrication, welding, forklifts, electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting, wiring, and repair.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Outstanding attendance, judgment, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and other Safety Regulations, and frequent use of personal protective equipment (HazCom, LockOut/TagOut, Respiratory and Electrical Safety, etc.).

  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent standing and walking.

  • Occasional climbing, bending, squatting, twisting, and reaching.

  • Frequent use of hands for handling objects, tools, or controls, and talking or hearing.

  • Frequently lifting or carrying 10 to 25 pounds, occasionally 25 to 70 pounds, and handling containers up to 100 lbs or more with assistance.

  • Must be respirator and forklift qualified and able to serve on the emergency response team.

Work Environment:

  • Working near heavy machinery and trucks in a manufacturing environment.

  • Frequent exposure to loud noises (85+ decibels), with PPE/Ear Plugs provided.

  • Exposure to pigments, resins, cleaning agents, dust, and dirt, with gloves/safety glasses provided.

  • Occasional exposure to fumes, with masks and respirators provided.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Hours: 2nd shift plus full benefits

Pay Details: $28.00 to $34.00 per hour
