Robert Half Entry Level Accountant in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina

Description We are seeking an Entry Level Accountant for a legal firm based in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. This role involves handling the bookkeeping and accounting functions of the firm, with a specific focus on trust reconciliation and data management for the IOLTA trust account. The role also requires proficiency in QuickBooks and a strong bookkeeping and computer background, ideally in a law or other professional service firm environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform bookkeeping and accounting functions for the firm, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up to date

• Handle all data and disbursements for the IOLTA trust account in the accounting systems

• Use QuickBooks software to manage and process financial transactions

• Reconcile trust accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies

• Communicate with clients and colleagues to resolve any credit inquiries or issues

• Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments

• Maintain a high level of integrity, honesty, and attention to detail in all work

• Work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines

• Collaborate with a team to support the overall financial goals of the firm

• Continuously update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations. Requirements

• Possession of a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Proficiency in QuickBooks software is mandatory

• Experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper would be advantageous

• Strong understanding of general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel

• Familiarity with financial regulations

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent time management skills

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity

• Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive financial information.
