Google Technical Solution Consultant, Google Play in Mountain View, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 9 years of experience in either system design or in one programming language (Java, C++, Python, etc.).

  • 9 years of experience in technical troubleshooting, and managing internal/external partners or customers.

  • 9 years of experience in API integration with third-party developers.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Google Cloud integration.

  • Experience working with developers/developer communities.

  • Experience building for Android.

  • Experience working with engineers outside your organization.

Google Play is available on Android smartphones and tablets, as well as devices running Chrome OS, Wear OS, and Android TV.

The primary mission of the team is to support the growth of the Google Play app and game developers by enabling their business growth through the successful utilization of Google Play’s products, solutions, and services. The organization should serve as developer’s primary technical POCs via established, ongoing relationships.

Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $171,000-$257,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Work with developers to drive adoption of high quality Google Play features and services.

  • Become an expert in the relevant Developer facing products and APIs, and identify opportunities for Google and developers to create better products for users.

  • Work with external developers, generate developer insights, create written guidance, write example code, author blog posts, design APIs, propose product changes, influence engineering plans, discover developer stories, and inspire developers.

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of Google Play’s products/solutions and underlying architectures by troubleshooting, reproducing, determining the root cause for developer reported issues, building tools for faster diagnosis.

  • Act as consultant and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders in engineering, sales, customer organizations to resolve technical integration obstacles.
