Google Technical Program Manager II, Software Engineering, Geo Developer in Mountain View, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience managing projects.

  • Experience with standard practices in resource planning, milestone tracking, and reporting.

  • Experience with software development, managing execution of programs that span multiple engineering teams, and with iOS /Android release processes.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree, PhD, or equivalent practical experience in engineering, computer science, or another related technical field.

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.

  • Experience within the Automotive, Transportation, Mapping (GIS) industries or working on consumer facing products.

  • Experience with life-cycle management in a software environment or building product requirements and managing the product life-cycle.

  • Ability to be influential on integrated teams of technical and non-technical members and managing third party vendors.

  • Ability to solve software engineering challenges involving bug triage, source control, continuous integration, and more.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will lead multi-disciplinary engineering projects using engineering knowledge, and will plan requirements with internal customers and support projects through the project life-cycle. You will also be responsible for managing project schedules, identifying risks, and communicating risks to project stakeholders.

The Geo team is focused on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users, through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more. Every month, more than a billion people rely on Maps services to explore the world and navigate their daily lives.

The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$178,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
