Bring your expertise a highly innovative small business providing high end solutions to NASA and other customers where you can make a difference now to the future. Seeking candidate to join NASAs Wind Tunnel Systems Branch to support NASAs Unitary Plan Wind Tunnel

The System Developer plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining software systems that support wind tunnel data acquisition, computations, databasing and data visualization.

The position will implement features related to:

• Data acquisition, real-time processing, and workflow automation
• Optimize systems for performance and reliability
• Will collaborate with a cross-functional teams to understand wind tunnel test requirements
• Create and enhance systems in support of the Wind Tunnel Systems Branch using development tools like Confluence, Jira and Bitbucket.

Programming Experience:

• Demonstrate strong proficiency in C and C programming.
• Utilize the C standard library and algorithms effectively.
• Understand memory management.
• Design and implement efficient workflows for data processing, analysis, and reporting.
• Document system architecture, design decisions, and implementation details.
• Integrate third-party tools and libraries as needed.
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing.

Troubleshooting and Optimization:

• Identify and document bottlenecks, bugs, and performance issues.
• Collaborate with the staff on solutions to enhance system efficiency.

Information Technology Security:

• Develop systems that adhere to security protocols.
• Understand network segmentation and isolation techniques.
• Ensure data integrity and confidentiality.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

A Bachelors Degree or higher in a Computer Science, Systems, or Engineering related discipline.

• Experience performing systems development related projects.
• Experience working with the Windows, Unix, and Linux operating systems.
• Proficiency in the standard Microsoft Office applications.
• Willing and able to learn new technologies and
• Able to adapt to organizational structures.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.

Must be able to obtain a NASA Badge and gain access to the facilities. Must be able to obtain a security clearance if required by the customer/client.

Required Skills and knowledge:

• Familiar with modern software development methodologies and configuration management best practices.
  • Experience with C, C and bash shell scripting.
  • Experience working with a relational database.
  • Development experience using the Atlassian toolkit including Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
  • Understanding of mathematics and aerospace is desired.
  • Understanding of network security principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
