Google Senior Software Engineer, AI/Machine Learning, Google Photos in Mountain View, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.

  • 5 years of experience with machine learning algorithms and tools (e.g. TensorFlow), artificial intelligence, deep learning, or natural language processing.

  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with system design and architecture.

  • Experience with Large Language Models, NLP, or Generative AI.

  • Experience with Data Analysis.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.

  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

  • Experience with Graph Mining, Artificial Intelligence, Exploratory Data Analysis, and Large Language Models would be a plus

Photos Reminiscing’s mission is to "Help showcase your life story, so you can explore and enjoy the moments that shaped you", and our responsibilities include development of the Photos Memories feature. Memories helps users look back at moments big and small. It is one of Photos’ most popular and engaging features.

Google Photos is a photo sharing and storage service developed by Google. Photos is one of the most sought after products at Google and is looking for both client-side (web and mobile), with server-side (search, storage, serving) and machine intelligence (learning, computer vision) Software Engineers. We are dedicated to making Google experiences centered around the user.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $161,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Partner closely across functions to define our strategy and roadmap, balancing user needs and technical constraints.

  • Iterate quickly on prototypes and get demos in front of the team quickly so we can refine new concepts as a group.

  • Develop novel solutions capable of producing many different types of Memories, rather than trying to methodically build new Memories one-by-one.

  • Build pipelines and other infrastructure for large-scale evaluation to ensure quality in each new Memory type.

  • Launch new Memories, ensuring they are scalable and easy to maintain.
