Google RF Hardware Engineer, Pixel in Mountain View, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience designing RF hardware.

  • Experience with RF board-level or circuit-level bring-up, validation, and debugging.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.

  • 2 years of experience in RF board or circuit level design experience.

  • Experience with cellular 4G/5G RF design.

  • Knowledge of test automation using languages like Python or LabView.

  • Knowledge of different wireless communication systems (e.g., 5G NR, LTE, GSM, WCDMA, WiFi, etc.).

The team's mission is to advance the radio technologies that power mobile devices and is dedicated to exploring, architecting, designing, and delivering an advanced mobile radio platform for future-generation Google Pixel devices. The goal is to create radio solutions that enhance the user experience, ensure seamless integration of radio technologies with the overall device architecture, and meet the demands of the market in a timely manner.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $102,000-$150,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Design and perform testing/validation for Pixel mobile devices radio platform, covering radio technologies (e.g., 5G NR, LTE, 2G, 3G).

  • Maintain responsibility for a radio frequency (RF) sub system design in a platform that will be used for Pixel mobile devices.

  • Work with component vendors and partners to design RF front end modules, filters, and critical components.

  • Manage Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design for optimal RF performance.

  • Travel up to 15% domestically and internationally as needed.
