Intuit Product Design Manager - QuickBooks Mid-Market Accounting in Mountain View, California

We will disrupt the small business mid-market (Big Bet 5 (https://www.intuit.com/strategy/#bigbet5) ), by transforming QuickBooks from a self-serve, DIY accounting tool for small businesses, to a sales-led, done-for-you suite of tools to power growing businesses. Delivering a sophisticated product that customers love is critical to our success.

As a Design Manager on Mid-Market Accounting, you will lead a team responsible for delivering on advanced accounting capabilities across the Intuit ecosystem including Multi-Entity Accounting, Revenue Recognition, and Fixed Assets. These capabilities are critical to enabling Mid-Market customers to grow with QuickBooks as their business becomes more complex. This role requires an agile leader who is comfortable influencing across organizations, delivering high-quality designs, and developing a team in a highly collaborative environment.

What you'll bring

  • 8+ years of experience in Design, with management experience as a nice-to-have

  • Familiarity with basic finance and accounting principles preferred

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, HCI, Human Factors, Design Strategy, or equivalent relevant experience

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality design output through a team

  • Knowledge and experience in delivering product design deliverables such as design prototypes, documentation, design specs, assets (web and mobile), or similar

  • Strong business acumen and experience in managing multiple stakeholders and senior leadership expectations

  • Experience leading designers as a mentor, design lead, or manager

  • Excellent leadership, communication, project management, and organizational skills

How you will lead

  • Lead initiatives of significant scope, complexity, and responsibility in creative vision, strategy, and execution; with ability to operate as both player and coach

  • Deep understanding and balance of customer, business, and shareholders needs and cross-functional partnership, collaboration, and decision making

  • Strong communication (written, verbal, and visual), influence, and persuasion skills

  • Actively engage in the Mid-Market Accounting leadership triad (PM, Dev, Design) to guide strategic vision, drive alignment, and deliver with high quality

  • Drive outside-in, customer-centric thinking, doing, and building during the entire product process – from vision and exploration to narrowing and curation of every touchpoint to be excellent

  • Communicate design direction and intent with customer-backed and defensible principles and frameworks
