Intuit Finance Data Governance Lead Analyst in Mountain View, California

Overview

Intuit’s Finance Data Governance Team is seeking a Senior Data Governance Analyst to support all finance data governance and management functions. This person will need a passion for data and hands-on experience leading large-scale data management implementation, programming, and change management in this space. As an individual contributor, this person will engage with process owners and business data stewards across finance organizations and collaborate closely with our technology partners. Working experience within the data governance space is required along with finance business process knowledge.

This individual must demonstrate sound business sense, understanding of finance business processes, project management skills, communication skills, making data-driven recommendations, and be an independent thinker and a collaborative team player. Ability to communicate clearly, work effectively with diverse groups, use quantitative/qualitative analytical methodologies and tools, and quickly research, understand, and document new processes and requirements are foundational needs for success in this role.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, management of information systems, or a similar STEM degree with 5+ years of hands-on working experience in data management and/or data governance.

  • OR Master's degree in computer science, data science, management of information systems, or a similar STEM degree with 3+ years of hands-on working experience in data management and/or data governance.

  • Must be able to work hybrid from our San Diego or Mountain View offices.

  • Working knowledge and hands-on experience of the Finance data ecosystem and technology landscape, Finance functions, and business processes that produce or consume finance data assets and products, including existing challenges and best practices for large public companies.

  • Proficient in technical data skills and hands-on technology experiences: data programming languages such as SQL, Python, data lake and data mart such as AWS S3 and Redshift, data governance tools such as AWS QuickSight, BI tools such as QlikSense and Tableau, etc.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tell stories and present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Strong team player with energy, enthusiasm, and detail orientation to produce high-quality deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

  • Desired but not required: hands-on experience in data risk management and data control implementation under SOX ITGC/ITAC, BCBS 239, ISO 8000 series, DAMA, IRS 7216, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA.

How you will lead

  • Deeply understand Intuit’ Finance data stakeholders, data needs, data ecosystem, tech stack and data products, data management practices, and applicable international and financial service sector-specific data compliance requirements.

  • Support finance data domain stewards and finance business process owners in implementing and maintaining data management best practices and meeting data compliance requirements.

  • Collaborate closely with business process owners, data stewards, and tech partners to implement and operationalize Finance data governance principles and framework:

  • Support finance data stakeholders such as data consumers and partners with a customer-focused approach.

  • Support Finance Data Strategy projects initiatives with data technical expertise and project management leadership.

  • Follow regulatory trends and industry-leading practices in data management, data governance, data compliance, and data security, including new laws, regulatory and compliance requirements, methodologies, technologies, etc.
