Join us as we grow Designer, an AI-powered design service that’s helped improve and visualize billions of designs in PowerPoint and other products across the Microsoft ecosystem. We are located in heart of Silicon Valley in Mountain View, California. We're growing the capabilities and scale of Designer, pushing the limits of machine learning to help create the world’s best presentations and designs. The team has responsibility for the design, implementation, and testing of an ecosystem which includes modern, seamless web experiences and graphics capabilities. In addition, the team is on the forefront for developing scalable cloud services deeply integrated into various Microsoft applications. Partnering with the best of AI Research, product management, user experience (UX) designers and user research teams to continue delighting our customers and create a truly intelligent and delightful AI assisted design experience.

Responsibilities

  • You will work on machine learning (ML) projects across various domains like natural language processing (NLP), Vision and harness Large Language Models (LLMs) and Diffusion models to deliver visual AI solutions for Designer customers.

  • You will get the opportunity of working in a fast-paced environment developing algorithms and techniques leveraging text, images, and video for analyzing and transforming content to build solutions that have the potential to transform people’s lives.

  • You will work with engineering partner teams on the model integration/flight/maintenance.'

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND relevant internship experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)o OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related fieldo OR equivalent experience.

  • Experience with relevant projects in Computer Vision and/or Information Retrieval.

  • Experience in Python.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on Natural Language Processing projects.

  • Experience with statistical modeling and deep learning especially with frameworks such as PyTorch, Tensorflow or Keras.

  • Candidates with Top tier publication(s) is preferred.

  • Ability to work cross-group and across disciplines.

  • Passion for customers, innovation, product quality, service excellence and test engineering.

  • Experience in shipping high-quality products or services at-scale is a plus.

Applied Sciences IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $76,400 - $151,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $100,300 - $165,400 per year.
