Pipelayer duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Follow written instructions or blueprints to lay out the route of the pipe.

  • Ensure trenches are excavated to the required depths and slopes are safe and legal before entering excavation, if sloping isn’t possible ensure you have the correct shoring system for the task.

  • Level and/or grade the base of the trench using tamping machines or hand tools.

  • Lay pipes in trenches and weld, cement, glue, or otherwise connect pieces together.

  • Check grade with the use of rotary lasers/pipe lasers to ensure proper grade Install structures and pipe systems.

  • Cover pipes with earth or other materials.

    Pipelayer duties are physically demanding, and a high level of physical fitness is required.

    Laborer duties include but are not limited to:

  • May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and various other equipment and instruments.

  • May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials.

  • May assist other craft workers.

    Project Overview: Construction of a raw water intake and pump station facility and installation of approximately 15 miles of HDPE pipe.

    Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting wage is $28-34 an hour - Depends on experience

  • Medical, vision, and dental insurance coverage available on the first day of the month following 60 days of full-time employment.

  • 401K plan available for eligible employees on the first of the month following 60 days of full-time employment. IMCO offers 100% contribution matching up to 4% of the employee’s eligible wages.

    Location & commitments

  • Project Location – Mountian Home, Idaho

  • Project Duration – Full-time hours plus overtime as needed through winter. Additional jobs have been secured in the Treasure Valley area providing employees with stable, consistent work.

  • 8–10-hour shifts

  • Evening/weekend work may be necessary to meet milestones.

    Requirements and Qualifications

  • 2 years of construction experience preferred

  • 2 years of pipe experience preferred – we will train people with the desire and willingness to learn to lay pipe and advance in the skilled trades.

  • Follow daily work plans, reports, and complete timecards accurately.

  • Lift 50+ pounds

  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or company security operations for the protection of people and property.

  • Current and valid driver’s license

  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions

  • Pre-employment drug testing required

  • Criminal background check required

  • Commitment to teamwork, safe work practices, and integrity
