Requisition Summary The Vehicle Integration Validation team is seeking a skilled technician to support our diverse vehicle testing initiatives. The role primarily focuses on handling battery electric vehicles and other alternative fuel technologies, alongside tasks involving internal combustion engines that support transmission testing. Get started! Job Functions / Responsibilities Handle the disablement and enablement of High Voltage (HV) systems and conduct necessary repairs. Perform transmission replacements, including troubleshooting and repairs. Ensure adherence to safety standards while working with HV components and advocate for safety procedures. Monitor the status of the vehicle fleet, manage repair activities, and prioritize repairs based on testing requirements. Work closely with Vehicle Operations, shop personnel, and the engineering team to troubleshoot issues and document them for resolution. Install and configure electronic controller hardware, and flash software using service tools and engineering software across the fleet. Assist in offsite test preparations, including instrumentation installation and vehicle setup, and support offsite testing as a driver (if licensed). Aim to become a subject matter expert in HV Battery Electric Vehicle and Transmission work. Develop and maintain a high level of familiarity with PACCAR products and service tools. Qualifications Proven experience with Battery Electric Vehicles and familiarity with transmission service. Strong mechanical aptitude is essential. Possession of a Commercial Vehicle Driver's License (CDL) or the ability to obtain one in the near future. Prior experience with Class 8 vehicles is highly desirable. Ability to summarize technical issues and communicate effectively. Experience with CAN-based control systems and diagnostic tools is preferred. Strong capability for conducting root-cause analysis. Education A two-year degree in Diesel/Automotive Technology, Hybrid/BEV Technology, or an equivalent technical degree.
