TECHNOLOGY PROJECT MGR I/II/III/SR

Position Summary:

As a member of the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO ), this position performs various levels of coordination or management of information technology (IT) projects and portfolio throughout the project management lifecycle. As this position progresses through the levels, direct responsibilities and independent work are increased. Responsibilities include independently developing project plans and providing recommendations, leading cross functional teams, and becoming a subject matter expert for project management, IT business practices, and applicable standards as well as assuming responsibilities within the OCIO for the strategic management of vendor contracts and technology acquisition requests. 

Required Qualifications:

Technology Project Manager I: Bachelor's degree, preferably in information technology or project management, or a combination of equivalent education and work experience. One year of increasingly responsible work experience in the administration of projects. Experience in requirements gathering workshops/interviews/facilitation. Ability to plan and organize the phasing of development projects of small to medium size and duration. Ability to execute and drive project plans to successful completion. Strong listening, facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Excellent interpersonal and consultative skills with the capability to maintain strong relationships. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Team-management and leadership skills. Experience using computers for a variety of tasks. Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to work on tight deadlines with attention to detail even under pressure. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Technology Project Manager II: Meets or exceeds all requirements of Technology Project Manager I and; Three years of increasingly responsible work experience in the administration of IT-related projects. Demonstrated experience with request for quote/proposal development, oversight, and planning/management. Demonstrated knowledge of the SDLC and Agile methodologies. Understanding of the Project Management Institute's project management standards. Ability to plan and organize the phasing of development projects of medium to large size and duration. Ability to execute and drive project plans to successful completion. Ability to draft and lead large, high complexity projects.

Technology Project Manager III : Meets or exceeds all requirements of Technology Project Manager II and; Five years of increasingly responsible work experience in the administration of IT-related projects. Demonstrated track record of successful business analysis, design and management of optimized processes, projects and programs in a complex workforce environment. Ability to draft and lead large, high complexity programs.

Technology Project Manager Sr.: Meets or exceeds all requirements of Technology Project Manager III and; Ten years of increasingly responsible work experience in the administration of IT-related projects. Demonstrated experience in portfolio planning. Demonstrated experience in handling and oversight of IT Purchasing and Renewals processes. Proven ability to manage an application inventory. Ability to plan, develop budgets for, and organize the phasing of development projects of all size and duration.
