DIRECTOR / LGBTQ & GENDER EQUITY

Position Number: S-3355

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Executive Director of Student Inclusion & Diversity, the Director assumes responsibility for offering guidance, implementing initiatives, organizing programs, making referrals, and conducting training. Their role involves advocating for inclusivity and equity concerning sexual orientation and gender identity. They also lead in organizing and planning LGBTQ+ focused programming. Furthermore, the Director is tasked with fostering partnerships across different divisions including academic affairs, recruitment and retention, student success, and other units within the division of student affairs. Situated within the Center for Student Inclusion and Diversity, the Director plays a pivotal role in fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion, serving as a focal point for LGBTQ+ student engagement while providing institutional leadership in gender and sexuality matters. 

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree. One year of full-time professional experience in higher education or another organization, specifically working with gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender programs or communities. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of LGBTQ issues and the intersections of race, class, gender, sexual orientation, gender identities and expressions, and other areas of diversity. Demonstrated ability to work with the LGBTQ community and other diverse populations. Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, evaluate, and assess programs and services related to LGBTQ communities. Record of strong organizational and administrative experience. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication. Effective conflict resolution and mediation experience. Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making experience. Ability to perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Staff Pay Level:

Pay Range: $50,000 - $62,000

Weekly Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. / weekends and evenings as required.
