Job Description:
The Audit Director, Reporting and Regulatory Management, US delivers on Audit Programs, Platforms, and Integration initiatives against key strategic priorities. This role is accountable for Professional Practice operations & business support functions, all stakeholder regulatory reporting and people programs and initiatives.
Depth & Scope:
Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
Contributes to and delivers against Audit US, Professional Practice's strategic agenda and priorities
Leads all aspects of US Audit's Stakeholder Reporting, including:
Develops effective and efficient processes to execute and produce accurate, impactful and timely Audit Division (SMT), Senior Executive Team (SET), Management Committee (MC) and Board reporting and related analytics
Act as subject matter expert to lead the Risk Assessment, Annual Audit Planning and Audit Pipeline Management processes for US Audit
Works closely with the AVP Stakeholder Reporting and Regulatory Management (Canada and Non-US) to consolidate into TDBG stakeholder reporting, Risk Assessment and Audit Plan completely, and on a timely basis
Leads all aspects of Regulatory Program and Reporting Management for US Audit, including:
Leads and manages all US regulatory relationships for Audit and respond to data questions and manage regulator communication in an effective and timely manner
Establishes processes and workflows to manage and report on Audit regulatory matters efficiently and concisely
Report on regulatory matters on behalf of the US Audit division
Works closely with the AVP Stakeholder Reporting and Regulatory Management (Canada and Non-US) to consolidate into TDBG regulatory reporting completely and on a timely basis
Collaborates with and supports the Audit Road to Strong (RTS) program team. Leads the execution and completion of Stakeholder Reporting, Risk Assessment, Annual Planning and Regulatory program related RTS initiatives for the US Audit division
Builds and maintains strong relationships across the Audit division and other Corporate Functions
Keeps current on emerging risks, trends and evolving regulatory requirements in the US jurisdiction for Internal Audit
Stays current on evolving US regulatory expectations and industry practices in order to support the continuous improvement and development of our function & practices
Provides ongoing support and ownership for IA divisional priorities such as Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Colleague Engagement, Career Development and Diversity & Inclusion
Attracts, develops, and retains talent and maintains an active talent pipeline
Communicates a clear & compelling vision; engenders followership
Member of the Professional Practice Management Team
Education & Experience:
Undergraduate degree required; Post Graduate degree preferred
CPA, CA and/or CIA designations preferred
10+ years related experience; Internal and/or External Audit Professional Practice and Audit Stakeholder Reporting (e.g. Board, Audit Committee reporting) experience preferred
Previous experience developing and executing on strategies and delivering superior results in both the short and long term
Experience with large scale change and transformation efforts within a Large Bank
Experience organizing and synthesizing complex regulatory information and reporting to executives and key stakeholders on a timely basis
Experiencing providing strategic direction relating to automated workflows, data-driven reporting and impactful dashboards and insights preferred
High level of accountability and organizational skills, self-motivated, adept at managing change and priorities with an ability to work under tight deadlines.
Proven ability in leveraging deep Audit subject matter expertise to align teams to a central vision, while also listening and engaging others to provide input in the shaping of that vision
Strong people management skills with demonstrated experience in leading high performing teams, proven ability to manage and motivate a diverse group of professionals, the ability to effectively work in teams across the bank with multiple stakeholders, and to influence and align others
Strong collaborator who engages colleagues, business partners, external stakeholders, and employees
Strong presentation and facilitation skills and strong interpersonal and leadership skills to facilitate working with senior management at all levels
Skillful communication (written and verbal), negotiation, and partnership skills to balance stakeholder input but remain objective to reach the right outcome - ability to stay resilient under pressure
Demonstrated relationship building skills; able to make things happen through the use of positive influence
Expertise in working effectively in teams – requires a track record of working cross-organizationally and with multiple stakeholders at varying levels
Robust organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities
